« on: February 22, 2015, 10:02:37 PM »
The Houston Scooter Alliance is proud to be partnering with Houston Children’s Charity for the 2015 H-Town ScootDown. To raise funds for the charity we will be selling tickets for a charity raffle to be held during the scooter rally. We want to thank our sponsors in advance for their generous contributions to the raffle.

CHARITY
Houston Children’s Charity is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for Greater Houston’s underprivileged, abused and disabled children who have been otherwise left behind. Learn more at www.HoustonChildrensCharity.org

SWAP MEET
In addition to the group rides and gymkhana that are the staple of any great scooter rally this year we will be introducing the ScootDown Swap Meet where scooterists can buy/sell/trade a variety of scooter parts and stuff. The swap meet will be the base of operations for the Saturday events. Also this year we will be changing up the scooter competition adding judged categories and extra emphasis on vintage and custom scooters.

Rally itinerary includes:
•   Gatherings and rides to unique Houston hot spots
•   Rides to Houston landmarks & public art installations
•   Gymkhana (obstacle ride, Slow Race, Cupcake Challenge)
•   Judged and Peoples choice scooter competitions for Vintage & Custom scooters
•   Charity raffle benefiting the Houston Children’s Charity

T-SHIRT DEADLINE
March 23rd is the deadline to guarantee shirt size and availability.

People 150 / Re: New paint and seat cover. Oo La La
« on: February 09, 2015, 03:59:28 PM »
Looks like a nice job on both, what color was it and did you do all the work.

My buddy Tony did it for me using Rustoleum Gloss Racing Green metallic and Rustoleum Satin Black. It is all spray paint. Original  was ligh blue and cream.

The seat cover is from Cheeky Seats. She was fast and very fair price. All they show on the website is the Union Jack pattern but she can make about anything custom for a great price.

Very nice! Makes me really miss my P150. Hang on to it as long as you can - it's a great scooter.

I've owned 13 scooters and it is by far my favorite.

Rattle can satin Black and metallic green. Top it off with a new seat cover from Cheek Seats and my love affair continues.

General Discussion / WARNING: Fake Online Seller
« on: January 20, 2015, 04:48:50 PM »
WARNING:
FAKE ONLINE SELLER > Avoid this parts website at all cost. I did not read any reviews before ordering and paying for an exhaust pipe in November and I still haven't got it. Email confirmations of order and payment were sent to me but no pipe. And all attempts to talk to them have failed. Main # is out of order and other numbers go to a different type of business entirely.
Do everything you can to avoid them. I will from now on read reviews and make an initial inquiry to the company directly before I order from any new sites.

Now where the hell am I going to find an aftermarket pipe for my People 150?

I am going to build up a Super 9 LC and find an appropriate rider (under 130 lbs) in the local scooter clubs and I think it will be the first sub 100 cc winner.

No mechanical issues except a replaced hydraulic brake hose for the front. Otherwise flawless, reliable and fast ride.

People 250 / P250 finished Cannonball with no probelms

I just got home from AmeriVespa after completing the 2014 Scooter Cannonball from Hyder Alaska to NOLA. The scoot ran great despite have to carry my fat ass 3500 miles in frequently cold weather and 6 days in the Rockies.

Where did you find it online?

People 250 / Throttle Cable going?
« on: May 07, 2014, 10:01:03 PM »
When I am riding I notice that I seem to be at full throttle based on the tension but I can twist another quarter throttle with different more tension and I get a little more speed. Is this possibly the throttle cable stretching?

People 150 / Wider Forks?
« on: February 21, 2014, 04:58:33 PM »
Has anyone considered/researched wider stem/forks to enable a wheel for beefier tire size? Where can I get the dimensions of a stem so that I can confirm it will fit but give me a wider gap between  forks?

Roadcraft / Re: 2014 Scooter Cannonball - Advice Request
« on: January 25, 2014, 04:26:43 AM »
My plan of single day 200mile rides has already been upgraded to every other weekend doing 2 days back to back of 150 to 200 miles. I'm not as concerned with the miles as the time in the saddle. I want to get as used to long days back to back as I can. I regularly go out riding during the week on my 150 for 2-3 hours as well, but I would do that even if I weren't prepping for Cannonball.

My goal right now is to try and improve my gas mileage. I am averaging 52mpg @ sea level and roughly the same speeds I expect to do for the event. Being as big as I am I may have to settle for what I am getting. My scoot is essentially being ridden 2-up.
