Thanks Nori, I appreciate your interest/reply. I however would be downgrading if I went 70cc ( I have a 150cc) I will take the advice on the pipe however. The 2 bro's and Yoshi pipes are way too much cash for just commuting. All I need is one without a catalytic converter in it. The carb is an afterthought. The point in changing out would be to get something more reliable...you'll have to share with us where you live, sounds rather remote...Greenee

I'm in the great state of Wisconsin and they have no standard (or check for them anyways) for emisions on a scoot. I'll start capping and see how it goes. Any aftermarket pipe advice ?? how about a carb, thanks for your reply.....JL

My intentions were to get some attention. I'm certain there are many of these machines out there (thou not in my hood) Which is where this site comes in. I need help with repairs and upgrades on my bike. It took me 7 months to get a stator for this machine. (had 3 dealers working on it at the time) I now have an issue with it running again. I've also taken in a lot of knowledge on this machine (I can turn a wrench) and want to take care of some of its flaws. (so it keeps running) My super8 has what looks like a California emissions on it. I want to remove it, (but how and what?) I want to put a better carb on / exhaust and so on, "on it". Don't want to find parts that don't fit or won't work. Any help / website advice will be greatly appreciated...

I would like some help/advice/suggestions on ways to change out the junk on my 2010 Super8 150. First off is the EGR system...CAN I JUST START RIPPING PEICES OF THIS SYSTEM OFF THE BIKE !!!
Secondly; WHO"S IDEA WAS IT TO PUT A CATALTIC CONVERTER ON A LITTLE SCOOT ANYWAYS, ANY SUGGESTIONS ON AN EXHAUST SYSTEM THAT WON"T BREAK THE BANK OR SOUND LIKE A HARLEY ?? Third; A DECENT CARB AND AIR CLEANER SET UP ? WHERE TO FIND IT, IS THERE ONE WITH A MANUAL CHOKE AVAILABLE ? (sorry I'm old school and not that lazy) I've done some stuff already. removed vacuum activated fuel cock for a manual one. upgrading all vacuum lines. High end spark plug (IR) and a new spark plug coil. I've just started. I'm not looking to go faster (goes decent for a buck fifty scoot) Just looking for parts that won't fail me when I need the scoot the most... (like in the middle of summer, prime riding time) It's still cold out so I've got some fixing time ahead of me (-3 degrees this morning) I will ride in cold weather and want this stuff done soon...HELP Thanks I know whats next and its all appreciated...JL

For those who may stumble across this old post. It was the stator and it took me 7 months to find a dealer who could get me one !! Seriously, so if your wondering where I've been. I've been riding it with the new stator waiting for it's next break down. that's right...I'm back...JL

I stand corrected The battery was junk (guess the one honda sold me was one they might want back) My 04 Road King has original battery in it also, and it still works (???) My Problem has now advanced to not starting. Good thing there is someone else asking same question here. Just follow there threads and go buy another honda in the meanwhile. (sob)

Respectfully disagree on the battery being 2 years, and "old". (dated 11/09 for what thats worth) My Ruckus is 5 years old, sat over the Winter (mild one, that is) and started up first try. I do appreciate the recomondation on a quality replacement if and when needed. The plastic is a test of one's patience. Again Thanks ALL for the replies, results to follow. (someday) :)  J

(yay I got the Zombies attention) I want to thank you for your reply. I've read some of your responses to others and find your advice to be very respectfull and informative. I now have more ??? How many screws will I take off before that front fairing starts to move  ?? If it is the stator, Will I be able to do it ?? (not a bad little mech, I am I am) 8)Would I have to remove the engine from the frame ?? and last Where can I get a repair Manual ?????? Like I stated earliar, I love my scoot, my first ride was a "77 XL Honda back in "78. I've owned many types of bikes since. I bought a Hon Ruckus because it reminded me of the "Rupp" mini bike I first rode when I was just a squirt. (my test ride on the Ruckus has me laughing to this day) Thanks again for your time, you provide a great service in sharing your knowledge. I will keep you informed on what I find. Joe

My S8 takes me to work (thats where %80 of its miles come from) I go one blk and turn onto a Hy. I'm wide open for 6 miles turn onto another Hy and go wide open for 4 miles. Park it, do the same on the way home. 59 to 67 miles per gallon avg. My complaint is the meek gas tank that goes empty every other day. (3rd day fuelling) thats mine

Facts; 2010 super 8; 600 miles when purchased/ Used
@ or around 1500 mi starter turned over slowly/ eventually had to kick start.
NOW we are at 2100 mi Bat is not being charged/ 11.2 volts at Bat not running/ Running high idle 12.4V
Bat disconnected and bat leads hooked up to meter /high idle reads 8.1 volts. ??? I love this scoot. Unfortunatly I own a Ruckus with 9000 mi on it and not one problem (gave her a new belt for good old times sake) HELP some one. I've read this happens w/this machine. Can't find a repair manual. Not sure where to go next. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks   greenee
