When your last bar is gone fill up the tank. if it takes 1.9 gal means you have .5 gal left. the gt 300 has a 2.4 gal tank. that leave enough gas for approx 30 -36 miles to ride.

If it means there is .5 gal. left, how much of that .5 is actually usable, meaning that you really don't have a true 1/2 gal. of fuel left to run on?

I am also looking for a windshield for my GT300I. Kymco does have one; the P/N is PGFPCT according to the Kymco USA website. I am going to the local dealer tomorrow and try to order one. the website did not give a price. If I can get one, I will post the price.

Curious to see how it mounts, not easy to tell from the picture on Kymco's site.

For the oil filter cover and crankcase drain bolt torque, I just tighten them , but only "snug".

The drain "bolt" is really only a plastic cap/plug  and has an o-ring so you don't want to over-tighten it.

Another tip when you drain the oil from the crankcase, just loosen the the plastic plug-don't remove it all the way until it stops draining to avoid a mess.  Once it stops draining, remove the cap, and then slide out the filtering screen/tube and clean that as well.

I did it. I bought a new (2012) silver  GTI 300. I got it for $4644.00 + registration. Thought it was a decent deal. Now I just have to wait for nice weather to ride.

Congratulations!  Nice choice in color!

Personally, I'd go with the '12 and save the $1000.   I bought a '12 just when some dealers were getting '13's and I didn't see anything different to justify paying more.

Seems strange the dealer cannot commit to a price on a '13 now?

What happened to your deal on the '13 for $5100 OTD?

MrMike, sounds like a good buy to me for a 2013.

As stated MSRP is $5,399 and in the fine print the state this:
*Note: MSRP does not reflect destination or other dealer vehicle preparation charges.

After removing the cover to the fuse box, there is one empty slot, but it doesn't have any metal contacts in it so the idea of putting a fuse in there to disable the sidestand switch is out.

What is this "thing" in the second picture for/what does it do?
