Maybe they don't market them there very well? I would not put in a stronger spring. If you go up in roller weight and then a stronger spring, you may just counter balance the roller weights. 31 gram (one G over stock) is a small amout to start with, and will not effect the power very much, so maybe start with 32 G and see how it go's? 33 G may be to much? :-*

That is what I'm thinking too. On my Nexus I had Polini variator, +2g, kevlar belt and slightly harder contra spring. That was a perfect combo on that bike. Better acc., more responsive at all speeds and 700rpm lower at highway cruise. Did some testing with Malossi and J. Costa too.

Everyone has to test different setups to find the one that suits their driving style. One other thing that I wonder about. Why are Dr. Pulley so popular in USA and not that popular in lets say Europe?

Yes true but with heavier rollers you may need harder contra spring for balance. Sometimes just heavier rollers make the bike sluggish.

Nothing wrong with stock vario. Just like to test different ones. I'm gonna test 32-33g with stock variator and harder contra spring . Also little bigger jet.

If you not find touch up paint, a serious paint store should be able to scan and then mix some for you.

Hmmm. Checked with one dealer and they say 2007- uses the same variator, same number.. can anyone confirm that?

Never had a roller jammed. Have been driving like a complete #@$##* on my Nexus for two years and never a single issue. Miss that scooter btw. What you are saying is 100% bad luck.

BMW or Shoei. Have used Shoei since 1996 I think. So nice. Best interior and fit my head perfect. There are other brands too that are good ofcourse. Depends on how much you wanna spend but go to a shop and try them on. Do not buy online unless you are sure it fits you.

Spindrift:  I'm glad you don't have the noise.  It's actually pretty disturbing to hear.  That being said, I'll keep an eye on what you've found.  Question..is the right side you refer to when facing the scoot or sitting on it?

When I'm sitting on it. There are no grease back there (yes, in the wheel bearings and bearing for the axle) normally. Just gear oil.

Clean, clean, clean...

Have you got grease on the clutchpads then the clutch can be ruined. Important to clean the clutch bell aswell.

Mine has only 550km and I also noticed grease coming out from the axle bolt (I think) on the right side. No noice or issue with transmission. Last trip was 200km and no grease. I guess it was a little too much during the assembly. Not to worry.

Take off the cover and use degreaser and brake cleaner on drive and driven pulleys. Blow compressed air to dry everything to 100%

Push the oil warning reset button with a pen.
