General Discussion / It's time to buy new Agility 50?
« on: March 11, 2015, 04:13:09 AM »
Riding season is here and I don't want to take my scooter to far from the house because I don't want to walk back home. I just had the belt replaced and I think they put it back together wrong. I lost power and there is now a clanging sound coming form the clutch. I have 20,000 km on it. I think it is time to buy a new one. If I do get a new one I probably won't have it sped up this time after the first 500 km and I have the belt replaced at a kymco dealer instead of a place in town. What do you guys think? There is also oil in the air box and I have been riding it without a air filter. They also passed a law in my state that starting in the summer of 2015 you have to have insurance, title, and license plate. How much is insurance a month for a moped?

I have a Kymco agility 50. It has been giving me problems. I don't know much about fixing scooter. I can change the oil and gear lube. I took out the air filter and now it runs better. It has been losing top speed and it does not have the punch it use to. I put 20,000 KM on it in 2 years and have been riding wide open the whole time. How much time or KM more do I have with the scooter. I was going to buy a Honda Met after the agility started acting up but after taking the air filter out and it running better I don't know. Is the Top speed loss because of the belt? It was going close to 38 mph now it goes about 30 and it does not climb like it use to. I'm just going to put a new air filter and spark plug in it.

I have not had a cigarette in three days. I am still dipping grizzly wintergreen pouches. About 6 pouchesa day that is a can every three days. I just want to quit smoking I do not want smoke
in my lungs anymore. Dipping just does not seem as addicting as smoking. Now I like to ride my
scooter and have a dip in spitting at every stop I come to. Maybe I will try the nicotine patches
when I am ready. I just don't want to go jogging and have a heart attack because I smoke to
much. I want to be in shape, never know when about to get your ass handed to you.

Here is the deal. I ask the dealer about breaking in the scooter and not going full throttle, and going
25 mph. He told me that is why it was restricted in the first place and it did not matter how I drove
it for the first 200 miles. I have to say I put 120 km on it in 2 days and rode the hell out of the scooter
and had a hell of a time doing it. Am I hurting my baby?

So I got my new scooter today and put 80km on it. It came with a speed up kit that included
a unrestricted boss and a unrestricted jet. I just take the scooter back to the dealer after the
break in of 200 miles and they will deretrict the scooter for $45. Man you don't know how I have
miss riding. We brought it home on the trailer but I think I will ride it back 30 miles to the dealer
to get derestricted. There is nothing wrong with love between a man a scooter.

Got a can of dip in my pocket but the first place I went on my new a50 was to the store to buy
a pack of cigarettes. At the Murphy USA I can buy a pack of Pall Mall for $3.01 a pack. I live in
NC and Tobacco tax is not so bad here. They wanted to put a $1.00 tax increase a pack but they
never did. NC is a Tobacco state.

Maybe it ain't so safe to be a scooter pizza delivery man. In the news around here today
a pizza delivery man was beat with a baseball bat.

I have a grizzly wintergreen pouch in now. I have to confess I've been smoking for the
last few days. I gone though half a carton now I want to quit again. Smoking is now effecting
my body physically. I just don't want tar in my lungs anymore or my heart rate and blood
pressure go up because I smoke. I hope you can quit. Dip is the only thing keeping me from
smoking. Plus a roll of dip will last me longer than a carton of cigs and it is cheaper.

Agility 50 / Re: What if I just changed the boss?
« on: August 07, 2012, 08:23:21 PM »
I talked to the Kymco dealer today. They said after the break in period when I bring it
back for the scooter's first inspection they will derestrict it for $45. I don't think they do
anything to the cdi though. They probably just change the boss. He said it would go 38mph
after they speed it up at the first check up. And the best thing is it does not void the warranty.

Agility 50 / What if I just changed the boss?
« on: August 07, 2012, 01:20:51 AM »
I am getting a new agility 50 on friday. I've talked with the dealer about the OTD price.
But I have not talk to them about if it is derestricted or not or if they will derestrict it without
voiding the warranty. I was wondering what kind of speed I would get if I just changed the boss.
Or do I have to get a new cdi, boss, and jet. As you can tell I am not mechanicly inclined but I
plan on learning how to work on my scooter.

I would love to ride around all night and deliver pizzas. Sounds like the perfect job for Scooterhead.
I think I go apply at the pizza places around here after I get my scooter.

I will getting the Kymco Agility 50 next Friday. They are selling it for just over $1600 Out the door where I am going.
Another dealer was selling them for over $1900 with Tax and fees.

I been smoking ever since I turned 18 I am in my 30's now. It's kinda funny because
during most of my time smoking I never tried smokeless tobacco not even once.
My dad smoked so when I turned 18 I started smoking. His dad, my grandpa, chewed and so my
dad smoked and chewed but started way before the age of 18 though. I have a memory from
when I was a kid fishing with my dad. He would take others out in his boat so they could fish.
This guy who dipped was fishing with my dad and me. I remember opening his can of dip thinking
it was a can of worms. So there I was with my fingers all in this man's can of dip looking for worms.
I said to my dad "where are the worms". I did not even know what it was.
Anyway I do not want to smoke anymore so recently I been trying dip pouches. Right now I have
a roll of Grizzly Wintergreen pouches. They just don't seem as addicting as cigarettes. With cigarettes
I am smoking as soon as I get up to when I go to bed. With dip I used 4 pouches yesterday and 3
today. What do you guys think "is smoking more addictive than smokeless tobacco". I did notice when
I previously started smokking again after I started dip I did smoke more. Hopefuly I can stay off
cigarettes this time. I do enjoy nicotine.

Thanks for the replies,
It is an old road to the beach most people would be taking the interstate. I hope the scooter will
last a few years.

Hello all,
I decided on a Kymco agility 50. I have just found out in reading the owner's manual .pdf from the
Kymco website that the Kymco headquaters is in the next state from me. I live in NC and the headquaters is in SC about 230 miles from me, a good sign I guess. There are also 2 kymco dealers
with in 30 miles of me. I will have the money for the scooter at the beginning of September. I also
plan on driving it to the beach when we go in October, about 100 mile ride. Riding up and down the
boardwalk around dusk and sunrise(East Coast). I can't wait! Hopefully I will have it broke in by then.
If you reply please share how many miles you have on your Kymco and what problems you have had over your journey with it. I just can't wait to ride. I plan on riding at least an hour most night.
I was even thinking of buying a map of my state and hilighting were I've rode. Nothing to do, no where
go, Just riding. Hopefully riding will take the place of previous nightly drinking habit.
    Enjoy the ride, all.
