Xciting 500 / Audio Amplifier (Radio)/USB Charger Instllation
« on: April 17, 2013, 06:24:34 PM »
Enclose is a diagram for connecting electrical accessories (audio amplifier, multiple USB chargers or lights) to the scooter.  This diagram allows the accessories to turn ON when the scooter key is in the ON position and OFF when the key is in the OFF position.

This circuit is required since the 12 Volt outlet under the seat is limited to 0.8 Amps (10 Watts) which is enough for a single phone charger, but not  enough for powering a radio.

Note that the 12 volt outlet is selected as the switching source since it already turns on/off with the scooter and is close to the battery.  This makes the modification fairly simple.

This diagram has an additional bypass switch which allows  for the manual turn ON of the accessory (Radio/USB charger) even when the scooter key is not on the ON position.  Perhaps you want to listen to the radio while the key is not in the ON position (which also turns the headlights ON). Keep in mind that the bypass switch can deplete the battery if left ON.

I take no responsibilities on what may or may not work here, but I hope that it will help others.  Do let me know if you see errors, corrections or omissions and I’ll be happy to add them to the document.

Enclose are the personal steps (from memory) for a valve job on the Kymco Xciting 500ri 2009.  This is by no means a mechanical reference guide and I take no responsibilities on what may or may not work here, but I hope that it will help others.

Do let me know i you see errors, corrections or omissions and I’ll be happy to add them to the document.

I put the document online as it is too large to attach within the forum.
