MXU / Re: MXU 250 electrical problem
« on: March 28, 2010, 07:08:59 PM »
Many thanks, sorry for the delay in replying.
It seems the problem was with my ignition cables, i renewed my battery after it was sat for 4 months and as soon as i turned the ign on it blew the fuse, i removed it and seperated the cables and it seems to have solved the problem.
But it seems my electrical whoes are not over, the inhibitor has stopped working so i have had to disconnect it from under the seat, it has also stopped the start switch from working. (i did try and jump start it from my truck thou).
Any help on this will be greatly appreciatted, now i remember why i hate electrics.

Many thanks for the advice, i don't suppose you know where i can get a wiring diagram from so i can start the fault finding. I'm in Germany at the moment in the military so trying to find 1 local is difficult (they write in a funny language  lol).

MXU / MXU 250 electrical problem
« on: November 10, 2009, 10:17:27 PM »
I'm trying to find out a rememdy/cause to my "Main" (15A) fuse blowing, i had it running fine and it blew on me while out riding, i changed it for the spare which blew straight away, i used a piece of wire as a 'get me home' fix, which worked for about 20kms. i left it for a few days before trying a 15A again, it worked on 'tick-over' for 10-15 mins but blew after about 5 mins of driving. An old fault with the orignal start switch and gear inhibitor is still present so assume its not linked.
Your help and advice will be greatly appreciatted.

MXU / Re: Swingarm Bolt

Managed to get it out, had to grind/cut the head off the bolt and use a punch and a lump hammer. Took some brute force but it eventually shifted. Sleeve liner was cracked and the bushes wear also knackered.

MXU / Swingarm Bolt
« on: January 20, 2009, 07:43:08 PM »
I had a loud'ish' knocking coming from the back of my MXU250, on looking at it i found the swingarm to  be loose, i tried to tighten it up but the knocking was still there.
I tried to take the bolt out to look at the bushes, sods law the bolt won't come out, it spins freely just won't pull/hammer out. I've looked to see if theres any retaining devices and couldn't see any.
So if anyone has any idea's please let me know before i get a even bigger hammer and do too much damage.....
