Nice job!  When the original won't work, go with something better!  I actually think it looks even better than it did before.

Awesome pics! And... being a Hoosier, I can testify that all of Indiana isn't flat.  ;D  Indiana actually has a lot of beautiful riding country in it!

And... yes...  the trip back does qualify you for "Iron Butt" status!  LOL

Personally, I use my scoot for commuting to work and getting around downtown (with fun trips when the weather is nice).  Shifting would be a pain.

Agility 50 / GAAAH!!! What did I do????
« on: October 15, 2012, 10:31:21 PM »
Ok, so I got the new LED blinkers in the mail today and excitedly went to my friend's house to install them (he has much cooler tools than me).  So, we took the old front blinker off and wired the new blinker on.  The first time we wired it, we heard the blinker noise, but the blinker didn't work.  Then, thinking that the wiring was backwards, we switched the wires.

Trouble...

Now, my scooter won't start, kick start, make a noise... nothing...

Then, I called f*!king Racing Planet USA and spoke with some dickwad named Alex who suggested I take my scooter to an electrician........  Useless suggestion, as electricians work on houses.........  And, because he told me that he doesn't have a manager or supervisor (he apparently owns all of Racing Planet), I cancelled my order and will never order from them, again.  RUDE and stupid people....

So, anyway...  how do I fix my poor lil' scooter?  What'd I do?  Where did I go wrong?  HELP!!!  Please?

Sounds good - I'll start w/ the 5.5 1st.  They're not very expensive (even the name brand kind).

I'm with you on the exhaust...  Seeing a rust exhaust is akin to seeing a quarter panel rusted thru on a car.  hehehe

I never use the kill switch as I may forget about it not being in the run position and  then wondering why the scooter won't start.

BAHAHA - my older-than-dirt-Zuma *only* shuts off if I use the kill switch...  Do you know how many times I've been like, "WTF??  Why isn't it starting???"  Then I notice the kill switch is on...  ROFL

Full derestrict (inc cdi cut)
Race variator
Nakura belt
K&N filter
92 main jet (little too rich no with winter so going to drop to a 90)
Leo Vince exhaust
Shortened boss (36.8mm)
1500 rpm clutch springs
1500rpm torque spring
5.1g Malossi rollers
Bridgestone ML50 Mola tyres
Digital tacho

Few other cosmetic mods.

I aways run super unleaded fuel and every month or so run a full tank with Redex in it. I found the best way to start it is no NOT give it any throttle, just press the electric starter and it fires up at low rpm then i leave it alone. The revs will build as the auto chike kicks in and the back wheel starts spinning on the stand while i go back in and put on my helmet and gloves. By the time i come back out the back wheel has stopped spinning, revs have gone back down to idle normally, if not i give the throttle a littl twist and that drops it back dkn. NEVER had an issue starting it that way apart from when i had a bad battery a while back, been fine since i fitted a new one. Like i said i hadnt used it for nearly 2wks and its been sat by the hedge in my garden, other scoot has blown the carb gasket on wed night so thurs morning i had to use the A50. Started right up as normal and it was like 1°-3°C outside with a frost over everything  :)

You may have a choke problem on yours? Also i found if you rev it once it 1st starts mine doesnt seem to like that, it seems to like a min or 2 to wake up from his sleep  :)

I have shamelessly printed this out and will begin mods  ;D

You're the man, THANK YOU!!!!

My tuned up A50 starts on the button every day i start it within a sec normally even if i've not used it for weeks. Was 1°-2°C yesterday here at 6:40am when i went to work, had been riding my 125cc scoot the last few weeks so the A50's been sat in my garden uncovered and unused. Put in the key, pressed the elec starter and she fired right up within a second no probs. I never give it any throttle ever when starting it, once it starts i leave it while i pul on my helmet and gloves then off i go  ;D

Got to say i have never had issues starting mine even in minus temperatures when theres frost and ice all over it.

Can you list all of the tuning you've done?  Or send me a PM with it?  Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease

My Agility 50 has a rough time in the cold.  When it gets below 50 degrees fahrenheit, the electric start will not work and I have to kick start it a bunch of times while playing with the throttle to get it to start.  And then, I have to let it warm up for about 10 - 15 minutes or it'll stall when I try to go anywhere.  :-\  She just hates mornings, is all...
