Fixed!  I disconnected the battery, the gauges reset themselves, and now its fixed.  How odd, its never done that before the 100 times or so I feel like Ive disconnected the battery.  The best I can figure is that it was connected and disconnected so quickly the gauge never reset itself fully.

The thing is, is that Im not sure how to get to the dial without taking off the front fairing and getting in through the back.  I replaced the front fairing before, so Im familiar with it, but I think that may be the only way to do it - going in through the back.

It was worth a try, but no dice.  Didnt move the needle the opposite direction.

Hello All.  Just got my 2009 Kymco Xciting 250 back from the shop today from winter work and storage.  While riding it out of the lot, I noticed the speedometer wasnt working, but the tach/gas/odo gauges, etc all were.    I immediately took it back to the shop and put in on the center stand to get a closer look, and it appeared that the needle for the speedometer had somehow become stuck under the small peg below the 0 mph.  The mechanic had no idea how that would have happened, and it certainly wasnt like that when I brought the bike in a couple months prior.

 Im not sure how to proceed, as it appears to be working, but now it just cant get past that small peg as I accelerate. Anyone seen this before, do I have to replace the whole assembly unit or is there a way to fix this?  The mechanic apologized, but they were busy at the moment since a lot of people were picking up their bikes, and my wife had already left, so I didnt have any other options to get home really, and to call Monday to make some arrangements for a repair.

Any advice, or anyone seen this issue before and know how to fix it?

And......fixed
   the 30 AMP fuse next to the battery had blown.  I will see if it blows again.

based on the information below, Im thinking its one of the first two below that may be causing my problem.  I will check to see if either of them has blown.  If the 15A that protects the whole electrical system is popped, then that would pretty much account for what Im seeing I think

Fuse list
When frequent fuse failure occurs, it usually indicates a short circuit or an overload in the electrical system. See your KYMCO dealer for repair.  Never use a fuse with a different rating from than specified. Serious damage to the electrical system or afire may result, causing a dangerous loss of lights or engine power.

30A CHARGE fuse protects battery charging system.
15A MAIN fuse protects all electrical circuits.
15A HEAD-HI/LO fuse protects the headlight high/lower beam and high beam indicator light.
10A IGNITION fuse protects the ignition system.
0A FAN fuse protects the cooling fan motor.

Sweet.  found this online finally.  I will check out the fuses tonight visually and get out the voltmeter if needed.  go figure, they are right next to the battery DERP!

Id say that would cause it to not start, but there are no lights - dashboard, headlights, seat open indicator when the seat is open, its like the battery is dead.  No lights on dash, wont even begin to start.  

Like I said, normally Id say battery, but since the battery is only 4 months old and was just fully charged and put back in, I thought it might be something else.  I tried hooking up my car starter to the scoot to jump it and not even that worked, which made me feel like it wasn't a battery issue either.

I think at this point I feel like a fuse went bad.  Does anyone who has a Kymco Xciting know where the fuse panel is?

Went to start my 2009 Kymco Xciting last night (12K miles) after riding it not a few hours before and the oil and engine lights were flashing like strobes when I turned the key to the on position, and it would not start or turn over. 

Sounded like a battery problem - maybe I left the key turned and the lights on and forgot?  I thought maybe too, so I pulled out the battery and recharged it today all the way.  Put the battery back in after it was fully charged and I get no lights on the dash with the key in the on position.  The light that tells you the seat is unlatched doenst turn on.  Seems to be no power at all, and Im sure the battery is fully charged...unless its dead..but that would be odd.  Its only 4 months old and Ive never had any issues with it. 

Could this be a fuse blown somewhere?  Im not sure where to start, but it definitely seems electrical.  Any suggestions or help before I take it into the shop would be appreciated.  Id just hate to take it in for a bad fuse.
