Really like the two tone blue and white paint scheme.
For the 200 model we only ever got plain jane white or black here.  :(
A nice stainless exhaust would look good on it, sound nicer too.

Has anyone else used this website for spares?

Thanks

I've used that site`s Honda and Suzuki equivalents and it was all good.

Honda have no thunder in the maxi scooter sector.
The Forza is about to be killed off by Euro emissions regulations and I would be surprised if the ageing Silverwing survives the cull either.

Forget DVSA or any government nonsense, all you'll get is hassle and told stuff you don't want to hear.
My advice would be to get down to a breaker and see what they have to hand.

Nikwax wash: http://www.nikwax.com/en-gb/products/productdetail.php?productid=4
Then Nikwax proofing: http://www.nikwax.com/en-gb/products/productdetail.php?productid=3&itemid=-1&fabricid=-1

In the UK large size bottles are sometimes available from Tesco online or Amazon at good prices.

EDIT: just had a look and Tesco have a promotion on right now: http://www.tesco.com/direct/special-offer/buy-one-get-one-free-on-all-nikwax/promo40380060.promo

This scooter begs the question; what is a scooter

There's a really simple answer, and it is the correct one.
A scooter is a type of motorcycle.
All scooters are motorcycles but not all motorcycles are scooters.
The two Honda NC range scooter models (Integra, ADV) are in reality fully fledged motorcycles with strange scooter-like bodykits on.

It isn't based on the Africa Twin, its a restyle of the NC750X.
What it really is........ an adventure bike you can't ride off road and a maxi scooter with no internal storage.
Bound to sell like hot cakes to fruitcakes with more cash than brains.

The NC700/750 comes in three body styles, the S roadster motorbike, the X adventure styled motorbike and the Integra (D) scooter type motorbike.
The X has longer suspension than the D and S
All share the same frame and engine and wheels and brakes etc.
The original body work of the S and X have been altered for 2016.

The CTX has a different frame and is a foot forward style job as is the NM4 Batmobile.
The NM4 is marketed in Europe as the Vultus and afaik the CTX is north america only.

I sat on a couple of NCs - but the seat was a little high for me...usually the case with the adventure style bikes.

The S isn't an adventure style bike, it has a 40mm lower seat height.
I don't think the S has been sold in the USA either as a 700 or 750.
The 750 motor is significantly better than the 700 and two years after the introduction of the 750 I just don't understand why Honda continues supplying the 700

Its a shame you don't get the NC750S over there, it has enough space in the fake tank for a full face helmet.

"I would think that braking ( right foot) or shifting ( left foot) would be quite difficult with prostheses"

Which is precisely why the NABD give help with adapting bikes.

Its amazing what can be done.

I would love to have kept many of the vehicles I have owned but not enough to keep pouring money into them.

For me vehicles are simply transport.
As soon as they stop being economical to run and reliable they're gone.

Rather than look at the book value of the vehicle you have, look at the cost of replacement.

So long as your Like continues to do the job you need it to and remains reliable its way cheaper than buying a replacement.

Just beware the lure of the Shiny New Thing and you'll be fine!

Glad to hear things are going well and wish you all the best Forbes.

Regarding this:

Driver is being fitted for his proshtetic, now, and knows he can't ride a non-automatic two wheeled vehicle again

There is an organisation in the UK who might disagree.
The National Association for Bikers with a Disability do sterling work getting people back on two wheels.

Here's an idea of what's possible: http://www.nabd.org.uk/adaptions/javaindex.htm

Perhaps it would be worthwhile establishing a similar organisation in the USA if there isn't one already?
