People 50 / Premix ratio

I'm curious what premix ratio people are using and why.
I had some trouble with my oil pump so i've bypassed in and I'm planning on running premix. I use 50:1 in my vespa, but was wondering if anyone had any sage advice.

I'm rebuilding a people 50 and i've got it all back together but I can't quite seem to get the oil pump to fit correctly. The geared end doesn't want to seat in the case. Is there a trick to it?

I bought a craigslist basket case and it was the only part i couldn't figure out.
Turns out it is part #90121-GFY6-901 and fits over the right side bolt that holds on the engine hanger.
