People 250 / Re: Open seat with dead battery
« on: October 08, 2020, 04:57:57 PM »
I fortunately could jack up the front of the seat. I undid one bolt holding the rear latch to the frame. I rotated the entire seat and the cable was clearly exposed to tap with a drift.

If the front were bolted down (It does get bolted, right?), I don't know what I could have done.

I can jack up the front of the entire seat (and see the battery and carb). The battery seems pretty dead. Any options here?

How can I get the seat open? I can jack up the entire seat from the front (that is, I can see the carb and battery), but it's still attached / latched at the back.

General Discussion / Re: By my start button....

Sorry to reopen this case, but I have read that the Honda Cub (Honda 90 in the United States?) can be push started. I have not yet looked into how they do it, but it's intriguing. That is my one complaint about the Kymco. It would be nice to have that third method to get the engine turning (that didn't involve pulling the cover and using a cordless drill!).

I still do not understand the clutch. Even if you push start the bike at 160 km / h, it will not grip the belt and turn the engine?

Thanks for the photograph. That is the same situation I have with my People 150. I followed your notes and the bike just started up!
