Ok, thanks for info, but do anyone have an idea what it can be other than that? my guess is the belt but the scooter only have 6000 km, and the noise appeared at around 3000 km. I read a thread about dry lubricant, could that be something to spray the variator?

Does anyone recognise a low but irritating sound from the transmission area? the sound occur in the constant speed of about 40 and 80 km/h. the sound is almost recognised like a small bird wissle, dosent affect the performance (i dont think) but it havent been there before. Can the drivebelt be worn or sloppy? the clutch is replaced. any ideas?

hello after having my scooter twice at the shop to get the pads in the clutch rugged cause of growling i got a bran new clutch installed on the warrante, but i havent had a chance to drive much because of winter and snow.. hopefully this one will perform better. What should i do if the same problem occur? I´m tired of taking the scoot to the workshop, specially when it so new (-09)

I got the same growling at take off sometimes on my -09 500 r. also have a wisseling sounds when driving at 70 kmh and its very anoying. had it at the workshop and they rugged up the edges in the clutch, ( the sounds comes from that the gripping part of the clutch gets worn, like shined when its supposed to be a rugged surface. anyway two weeks after its been in the workshop the growling is back so i just think that the clutch is of a bad quality.
So i heard of a brand called malossi a scooter sparepart brand for tuning and found this, maybe its time for a change?? check the link!!!!

I think this cluth might get our scooter a quicker take off too.. =)

Thanks for that info, I downloaded the manual so now i read a little bit, but kymco says 1600 km break in, thats a lot off driving before using the bike normally. Good thing i got a discount on the first 1000 km service and a discbrake lock included. Just to wait now for the bike to get here, hopefully the last weekend in this month.

Is there a power socket on the handlebar to attach a gps unit or people just using the battery in the gps?

Hi nice bike, how did you mount the gps unit? is it run just on its own battery or connected to the bikes electrical?

I think all models from -07 is fuel injected and about the abs I think its only available on the R model, the other models have "ubs".
