Downtown 300 / Downtown 200i vibration
« on: September 16, 2015, 04:15:23 PM »
Moderate to severe vibration when accelerating from stop. Not an aggressive takeoff. After I'm rolling pretty good it goes away. Done a lot of real slow riding following grandson on dirt bike. Could that have damaged the belt or something so now getting the vibration. How difficult to change the belt? Its a 2012 Downtown 200i with about 3800 miles.

on my downtown 200i, i used the existing bolt mounts under the rubber floorboards. cut sculptured plywood floorboards, stained and clear finished and used longer bolts in place of originals. bent flat stainless bars to match  angle of fairing and bolted to wooden floorboards and mounted footpegs to bars. someone tell me how to upload pics and i will.

I own a 2012 Downtown 200i. Great scooter and all, but wish they would bring back the Venox to the U.S. I'd buy one in a heartbeat. Can't find any used ones here in Texas.

anyone on this forum around Hutto, Taylor, or Round Rock ,Texas, that would want to get together for rides. Getting awful tired of riding by myself. See some scoots and mid-maxi out there. Even anyone with smaller cc motorcycles. I normally ride the Farm/Market roads that are not congested and just site-see. Hope to hear from some riders.By the way, i am retired and mostly available anytime.

Downtown 300 / Re: New Seat available
« on: May 24, 2014, 03:45:29 PM »
i gave up trying to find a replacement seat, so just modified mine on the dt200i. cut out a large portion of the dome underneath the seat and removed a portion of the butt stop and it worked out fine. it lowered my butt a few inches and can move back approx. 3 inches for more stretch. removed foot pad on floor and replaced with custom wood floorboards stained and clear finished with forward footpegs. only drawback is visual with loose seat covering where butt stop was removed, but i can live with that for the increased comfort and lower center of gravity achieved. works for me.
