3 Steps to Super 8 Troubleshooting:

Step #1: Ask Vivo
Step #2: Ask Vivo again (He was out Scootin' or Fixin' during Step #1)
Step #3: Repeat Previous Steps

Only way I'll get any riding in here is with a detachable outboard motor and wheel pontoons.  KYMCO add-on...hmmm perhaps? ;D

And, how do those T shirts and shorts feel against hot Nevadan asphalt? ;D

Technical | How To / Rear Drum Brake on a 20+% Steep Grade
« on: February 05, 2013, 04:46:21 PM »
This has been touched on before, but is it normal for the rear drum brake alone to not be able to hold when stopped at a light on a sharp grade....say 20% (San Francisco-type grade).  This happen to me on my brand new (odo @ 77mi) scooter.  It occurred in the brief moments in attempting a twist of the throttle to begin again still moving upwards, having to release the front brake.  Afterward, on level ground and out of traffic, I realized that I can actually forcefully push the scooter backwards with the drum brake applied.  All other functions are normal including pads, brake mechanism, however the brain of the owner is is questionable.   ;D

Thanks guys.  KK and I have exchanged about this subject before....Moto, that list is extremely outdated for at least Washington State: last listed club entry was 2008.  I am actively seeking an active club and those listed for WA don't exist at this time, or at least I cannot locate them.  KK's idea is excellent for newbies like me.

The manual for my new Super8 150 says the battery is "maintenance free."  Is there something I need to be doing after all  ???

Frankly, I've gone to "profile edit" a few times and still don't see where to enter location, profile photo, personal profile message, etc.  Then again, my computer knowledge is even LESS than my subzero scooter maintenance knowledge  ;D

Thanks KK.  Searched clubs in the Seattle Metro.  Uneventful.  I found 3 with little-to-no activity in 8 months! :(   Maybe I should start a new thread?

Lost my virginity and, WOW, scooter fun can't possibly be legal!   ;D

@08087:  Only forgot the kick-stand twice, haha, day #1 was dry
@Carol: It was actually a '79 Ford LTD and she was probably 106 yrs old...I survived  ;)
@Vivo: Forgot keys in ignition only once  :P
@MaryK: got the safety endorsement last week, thanks!
@TroutBum&Vivo: Roger on the underwear...only one body fluid problem...that clear nose snot with a full-face!

Tried to load a picture but limited to 129Kb....I know LESS about computers than I do about scoots

...to owning a scooter  ;D.  I am set to pick up my New (3 miles on odo)2012 Super 8 150 3 days.  I am PUMPED UP!    What are the most important "don't forget to's...." with a new scoot, new owner, newbie with ZERO maintainence knowledge, in his first few months of ownership?

P.S. Thanks for all the enthusiasm I've found in KymcoForum posts...and awesome pimped-up scooter photos too!
