General Discussion / Re: GIVI mount
« on: January 28, 2013, 04:17:24 AM »
Thanks for the suggestions, the mount is the correct one for the Grand Vista according to the GIVI site, I did contact them a few days ago and got one response that asked what I bought and where I bought it, but nothing since. Their CS is evidently in Italy. I haven't contacted the dealer I bought it from because they are not a Kymco dealer and weren't really knowledgeable about GIVI, I figured I'd just waste both of our times and my money. To be accurate about the fit, the plate support that bolts to the existing luggage rack fits and I have mounted the JC Whitney GIVI knockoff trunk on it, but am concerned about adding too much pressure on the rack without the support rods. BTW if anyone is interested JC Whitney had their large trunk on sale for like $47, while it's not as well built as the GIVI it's half price. Thanks Again.

General Discussion / GIVI mount
« on: January 27, 2013, 05:48:54 PM »
New Kymco owner here with a question, sorry if it's been asked before. I just bought a used 2006 Grand Vista 250 and am having lots of fun riding it. I wanted a top trunk and ordered a GIVI mount model #SR87m, but there is no way it's going to fit. The support rods that bolt to the top of the shocks appear to be too short and not the right angle. Now just for info I'm 64yrs old and have been riding and wrenching for over 45years and am not a complete idiot. No the support rods are not on the wrong side, they can only go on one way.
Thanks in advance.
