Technical | How To / Interchangeable Pulsar Parts?
« on: May 19, 2013, 10:44:32 PM »
Firstly I would just like to thank Vivo for the handlebar tip, much appreciated.

Now I have a question for the Pulsar 125 riding community, probably been asked a hundred times before but worth a try.
Looking for spares for my 2010 Pulsar I find a lot of bits on ebay but they are mostly for the 2008/2009 models. Are the bits interchangeable between the various years? (specifically thinking of the clocks and exhaust, as per my earlier post).
I need to keep the costs down at the moment so new stuff from Kymco is not an option (£180 for an exhaust, for example), meaning I have to  trawl ebay instead.
Thanks.

Technical | How To / Loose Clip-On
« on: May 08, 2013, 10:43:31 PM »
Does anybody here know how to fix a loose clip-on handlebar (left) on my Pulsar 125?

I have tried tightening up the Allen screw under the cover but within a day it works loose again and the whole handlebar moves about. Is there something else I need to fix to stop it moving about?

Thanks!

Yeah, I can just see the top box on the back of a cafe racer  :)

I like the exhaust in the photos though, definitely not standard Kymco.

Technical | How To / Kymco Pulsar LX 125 (2010)
« on: February 08, 2013, 03:48:16 PM »
Hi, am new to this site and wonder if anybody can help me.
I bought a second hand Pulsar and it needs a few bits replacing on it. The speedo casing is broken but as it is only plastic can anybody tell me if there is a good strong metal equivalent that will work on an LX 125 (Pulsar Base 2010)? I heard that a Suzuki GS125 speedo might work, is this true?
Would I be able to fit a Honda CG or similar speedo?
Secondly, the exhaust baffle is shot. Before I buy a whole new exhaust from Kymco is there a good Japanese equivalent?
Thirdly, the centre stand lug is huge! Is there a Japanese equivalent that will fit?
Lastly, the headlight is a bucket type but on the website it shows the Pulsar with a windshield. Can I change the headlight for the full windshield setup?
This is my first Kymco -  I bought it as a cheap commuter bike. While I reckon the engine is sound (it's a Honda copy after all), I think the build quality could be improved on in the areas mentioned above.
Thanks in advance for any help/advice you can give.
