For Sale / Lap Robe/Apron for Kymco People 125/150, 250 & Others
« on: April 20, 2013, 11:53:04 PM »
Gently used Tucano Urbano Termoscud - model R019 Leg Cover.   Was used on my recently sold  2005 Kymco People 150 (see link for pictures).   It won't fit my new ride so I'd like to sell it.  It actually fits a number of scooters, including older People 250.  Asking $50 plus shipping.  The Termoscud actually works very well at keeping you warm and mostly dry.  Unless it's really pouring I've generally been able to skip the rain pants.  As for payment, either cash, check, or paypal ought to work.  Send message or call if interested.

General Discussion / Re: Scooter Riding Season is Here

I actually kinda like winter riding.  Portland winters aren't all that cold, just damp.  Riding in the mist isn't so bad and that's what we usually have, not heavy downpours. I've got one of those Termoscud legcovers (http://scooterlegcovers.com/) plus the usual cold weather gear and generally arrive warm and dryish.  Worst season for me is late Fall after the leaves have fallen in the road and turned to slippery mush: best to just park the scoot until they wash away.

Technical | How To / Re: Gear oil puking into airbox
« on: March 11, 2013, 06:26:40 AM »
I've read in several forums that you should not fill to the bottom of the fill hole but to just put in the specified amount else it pukes gear oil out.

That's definitely the case with the P150.  The manual actually says "fill to bottom of hole" but if you do it's WAY over what the specs say.  In addition to the airbox issue, over-filling the gearbox can cause a rear seal leak, which on the P150 can leak oil into the rear drum brake - not good.  Best to measure out the right amount.  Those oversized syringes are good for this sort of thing.

People 150 / Re: Center Stand Loose...

It may just need some grease on the hinges & pivot points.  Mine was acting similarly and what I found was it wasn't fully swinging up when I took off and would later snap up and/or squeak when riding over bumps.  Lubing the pivot points seemed to solve the problem.  That area of the scoot gets a lot of weather so I guess it's not surprising.

People 150 / Re: Crankcase cover and how do I remove it

The cover is probably just a bit stuck to the rubber gasket; soft tapping with a rubber mallet should help loosen it.  You'll need to loosen the clamp and pry off the rubber breather tube at the front end too.  No need to remove the kick starter though.
