Make sure you flexible brake pipes are not kicked, this happened to me, also check your caliper pistons aren't seized. Good luck.

General Discussion / Re: 2019 kymco mongoose 70 carb issues
« on: July 11, 2024, 08:02:00 AM »
After dealing with carb issues from the dealer decided to replace with pz19 carb from china. Previous carb was autochoke, new one is manual. After install, cranked fairly easily but is running like it’s wide open. This model has a CVT transmission so no way to be in neutral and only way to keep it from running away is engaging the parking brake. The transfer case seems to get very hot trying to be geared down. I have chalked the front tires and put the rear axel up on a block to work out the carb kinks. I have turned the fuel/air mix screw in and out whilst doing the same with idle screw and no change. The throttle cable was loose so doesn’t make me think it’s cable tension causing the wide open rpms. Needle position would appear to be in the only option that’s available for the carb needle. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The PZ carbs from China are ok, but there are two screws not one to adjust, one is hidden under the bolts that attach to the card manifold off the barrel.... they rarely arrive "pre-set", it may not be the problem but worth a look.

General Discussion / Kymco 300 Maxxer misfires when hot.
« on: July 11, 2024, 07:16:34 AM »
Hi Guys, having looked through the past posts none of it is relevant to this issue....
I operate an activity centre in Southern Spain and our most popular activity is quad bike tours on a nature reserve (slow, nature ramble on wheels tours for 20 years).
I have a Kymco 300 Maxxer, it started to misfire when hot.
Recently (through last winter) I completed the following jobs....
New barrel and piston, I now have 200 plus compression.
New valves.
Tappet adjust.
New Cam chain.
New oil pump and chain.
New gear change control unit.
New CDI unit.
New coil and ht lead.
New battery.
New carb.
Full service.
I have 18 of these quads (Maxxer, KXR and MXUs).

I have completed parts swap overs with running quads and still have the issue, however, it starts right up without and problems and only starts to misfire when it is hot (Southern Spain).
Do any of you guys have any idea at all what it might be Please?
