General Discussion / Re: Getting my Motorcycle License
« on: May 24, 2014, 02:46:30 AM »
This topic just reminded me of something.
I've had my Super 8 150 for almost 3 months.
Been riding it every day (as it's my ONLY running vehicle).
Done just over 1100 miles so far.
SO, I should probably get up to the DMV and finally get my bike license. Preferably BEFORE I get pulled over for something!

 ;)  ;D
id get it asap and check your state laws while your at it

in my state its a criminal misdemeanor to ride without an endorsement!

Overseas eh? Thought maybe you could order one somehow, have it shipped to you in a box? Some guy on youtube had a k-pipe 125 shipped to his house, i believe he was from usa? But not sure how? Idk?
when i ordered a chinese scooter, the MCO was not enough, DMV made me bring the scooter there and they went outside and had to see the EPA certification plates and the one that says it meets federal safety standards, if its not made for usa then it probably doesn't have those plates and probably hasnt been certified

i know laws vary state to state but if you get a scooter that isnt certified in the us then you may not be able to register it (and they will title it as an off road vehicle)

alright

i had a kymco agility but sold it

i got a 150cc chinese ruckus clone

say what you want about chinese bikes, but for me it beats buying a ruck and having to do a gy6 conversion, or buying one already done (expensive)

General Discussion / Re: Do you take any crap for riding a Scooter?

ya their not all like that, a friend of mine has a harley and a scooter. he rides the scooter more often, he says its way more fun

the guys who give you a hard time are the ones who got a bike to prove to themselves they are a macho man (the village people were on to something)

General Discussion / anyone use tireflys on their scoot
« on: April 12, 2014, 07:37:30 AM »
you know tireflys, those light up things you put on a valve stem, I think it would be a good idea on a scoot at night to be seen.

any one use them on their scoot?

asking b/c scoots have those 90 degree valve stems, would the extra spinning weight cause problems

My BILs A50 did that, we thought auto bystarter, that could be the problem with yours

it wasn't with his though, we took apare the carb abd found a bad o ring for the air cut off valve. its a plate on the side of the carb with 2 screws and a spring in it or something, with bad oring it was leaking air and too lean until the sccot warmed up

Agility 50 / Re: sccoter worth more before or after mods
« on: April 02, 2014, 10:23:50 PM »
i ordered a 150cc scott and it was delivered today, rode it and night and day difference to my A50 even with mods, can never go back now :o its SOOOO much more powerfull that i doubt its even possible to make an a50 perform like this stock 150

but, i am selling the A50 to a family member, so i may still check here if he nedds help with it.

it was fun tinkering with the A50 though, even though I never got it as powerfull as I wanted, I enjoyed working on it

yes mods were done due to laws, i dont have a motorcycle endorsement so 49cc is max here. its time to get one finally. All mods keep stock look to not attract attention (air box, exhause, drilled out but stock) only visibe mod is tach which i will remove. I'd think modded 49cc scoots here would be in demand b/c of the moped laws but I don't know

that thing about not getting your money out of mods, i get that. i just want to be sure the mods wont lower the value (some times they do) I havent spent much on it, maybe $150.

i was asking b/c when i bought the scoot the guy selling had 2 A50's, told brother in law he bough the other one, its still stock & he things it too slow, could swap engines and give him mods for free and sell my scoot as stock. would you bother with that?

very good point about you'd rather buy a stock scoot, unless i was convinced mods were done right i would go for stock too. nobody wants mods done wrong.

i could keep the scoot but i doubt id ever ride it with q 150cc also. could see if my gf wants it, mods would be good for her shes half my weight lol

Agility 50 / sccoter worth more before or after mods
« on: March 20, 2014, 08:50:50 PM »
hey

last summer i installed a 72cc bbk, A9 cam, intake and exhaust mods, upjet, 5g rollers. scoot has way more power. i don't regret the mods, scoot is much more rideable and less scary than 49cc. around here, 49cc is just plain dangerous

but, its still not enough.. i though about going 85cc this summer but im having secod thoughs, maybe better idea to get a 150cc scoot instead

question is, do you think the scoot is worth more now than stock (meaning should i put it back to 49cc before i sell my A50

please no bbk trolls telling us we wil blow the engine in 1000 miles

Agility 50 / did i kill the battery?
« on: March 16, 2014, 01:02:57 AM »
Over the winter i used fuel stablizer like your suppose to, i ran the bike every couple of months and made sure battery was full. did everyhting right

but like a dumbass, when i last ran the scoot i left the ignition key, its been on for 2 months and came out to a dead battery today, the nicest day of the year.  its a new battery only 8 months old

its on charger now, an hour and still not charged. is the battery toast, can it survive being totally dead like that.

Agility 50 / Re: Engine rattling louder at 400 kms
« on: August 15, 2013, 04:26:24 AM »
An exhaust leak can sound alot like engine noise, if its where the pipe connects with the head.

Also could it be detonation/ knocking you hear.

Mine makes a lot of vavle noise when warm even tho its at 0.003. I blame it on the a9 cam but maybe it was there before and I didn't notice.
