General Discussion / Re: Getting the young'ens on a bike.

I think, that the price of gas will make the difference on the scooters that will be sold in the usa. europe being small and less of a distance to travel also makes a statement... for me it's just bringing back my youth..am 60... but still giggle like a 13 year old girl when I ride the scooter. Loved cycles. But some how the scooter brings a memory back that I did not know that i still had. Started with a home made bike. The first bike was a mobylett... france made. Spent more time under it than on it. Yamaha. zundap. yamaha  and yamaha...kymco...and now a s250 people....with a great big smile on my face...

I'm not sure about other scooters. But mine is a s250 2009 and it really does go 70 all the time into a lite wind. And most of the time 75. I like hwy driving... the speedo says 88 to 90...I know its at least 80 miles per hour...went to s. dakota and back from wis. was impressed, so I think some thing minor is wrong. Throttle adjustment or carb is still plugged a little. Sea form maybe or a shop... good luck and do not give up.. fantastic machine. Am 60 and have rode cycles all my life since 12. this really is a great machine.

People 250 / s250 freeway speeds
« on: July 11, 2013, 10:51:23 PM »
I ended up going to south dakota early. Went wed. and came back today. 310 miles each way plus a few extra miles to see some stuff. It stayed up with traffic. 70 plus miles per hour no problem. Was all the scooter people say it is. I did discover that B.P. gas seemed to make it go alittle faster, not sure why. I really do like my kymco.

People 250 / freeway speeds
« on: July 08, 2013, 10:33:46 AM »
Am going from Wisconsin to South Dakota wed. and back friday. Am a little concerned about having it at top end for most of the trip. Will be going 70 with a little left. It only has about 800 miles on it and have had oil changes done. I like freeway driving as I'm going WITH the traffic. Unlike a 2 lane that you get blasted with wind when you meet a semi. Any thoughts on this? Thanks scooter.

I enjoy freeway speeds with my scoot. 65-70 on my s250 people. Am going from wi. to s.dakota wed. on it. It will be wot most of the time. Am a little concerned about that. But if these are made as good as it seems to be, it may not be a problem. Any comment on this? I'm not concerned about the freeway. What people need to understand is you're going with the traffic. Unlike a 2 lane highway. Thanks
