As per the replies I got to this post I tested the spark plug cap and that was fine and then I started messing with the stop switch on the handle bar and "BINGO".  It started right up.  I think the stop switch is either weak or to close tolerance on the wiring but after pushing it on and off a few times it started right up.  So, something to watch for and the 600 mile trip for warranty is off!  Hats off and thanks again to BettinANDlosing and zombie!  I really appreciate the advice.

Thanks guys.  I will check the spark plug cap as that is easy.  The kill switch thing is another likely suspect that won't be so easy as the cloths are hard to get off this scoot but it's time to work on it a bit.  It's under warranty but so far to drive to get there so I want them to have the part I need or else I can just pay for it myself and save 600 mile round trip.

My Like had been running perfect when I parked it.  Next day I went to start it and the motor turned over fine but all I could get out of it was an occasional fire and mis-fire...  Gas is full.  I can hear the fuel pump running. No trouble code showing.  I pulled the spark plug and grounded it out and turned it over and I get occasional spark.  Very erratic, sometimes strong sometimes weak and most of the time no spark at all.  I tried the visual spark test with another spark plug and had the same results. I started looking for bad connections and couldn't find any.  I guess I will have to check these components one at a time.  Ignition coil.  Pulse coil, stop switch, key switch, ground wires for coils, tilt switch and ...I don't know how to check the ECU.  This Like has about 1700 miles and has run perfect.  Any thoughts or fixes would be appreciated.

I purchased an Air Hawk AH2MED and put it on in about 5 minutes.  Problem solved!   I think it was about $85 to the door and my bottom is happy.  Done deal!

I have just under 400 miles on my GT300i.  I just tightened the screws holding on the muffler guard a couple times.  The washers are heat resistant and tend to flatten out a little due to heating and cooling.  They stay tight after a while ( At least they did on my Like 200i), loctite would work too.  The seat is the only other issue I don't think is on par with Honda or Yamaha. It is a poorly engineered seat but I purchased an Airhawk AH2MED seat pad that fits the bike pretty good and fixed that issue.  I really think the larger tires and 300 cc engine make this a great scooter.  It's hard to find one this size with the flat leg room these have.  The speed makes driving on the highway fun.  Mine goes 80 mph easy even with the windshield.  Two up is no problem either.  Drive safe.

I put on the GIVI.  It is made for the GT300i, looks nice and you don't have to remove the USA blinkers.  I cut mine down 3.5 inches as it comes way too tall.  That also takes a lot of stress off the windshield when driving high speed.  I think they have the cracking issue cured as they come with plastic fasteners instead of  the metal ones that were often cranked down so tight that it would contribute to cracking issues.

Has anyone tried  a sheep skin pad?  Black Sheep trading company has this Ad..."ButtEase Pads are a simple and affordable way to get the benefits of a sheepskin seat cover on your motorcycle".  I am wondering if it is mounted right it may ease the seat issue.  Does anybody have experience with seat covers for these People GTs?

I purchased the Kymco windshield when I bought the Like.  They sent it later and I installed it.  It was very disappointing.  It buffeted real bad, it was very noisy and the only thing it, maybe, would shield was bugs and such.  I sold it on Ebay for 50 bucks and felt bad about that.  Having no windshield is better than that one.  I think it was kinda roundish...Like a paper plate...maybe they designed a better one...

I put a GIVI on my Like.  You have to cut it down because they can't take the stress of the speed of these scoots stock.  It sounds like you would want to cut yours down about 5 inches so that would be good for the stress issue.  They cut easy with a side grinder.  If you go with a GIVI you will have to trim around the headlight too.  Here is a photo of mine.  I cut it down 2 inches.  It may still be a little tall but I like the windshield to shield the wind and the noise.  The GIVIs are really good at that.

I just put a GIVI on mine.  I cut it down 3.5 inches.  It still may be too high for you but it is easy to cut with a side grinder and a little sand paper to smooth the edge.  I used the grinder to cut off the tabs on the blinkers and they fit back on perfectly.  I also put bulbs in the Euro blinkers so I have both sets working.  I thought I may have to ditch the USA blinkers but just a little mod did the trick.

I purchased the  Kymco brand for my Like when I bought the scooter and it was way too small.  It buffeted bad and didn't do the job at all.  I sold it and purchased a GIVI and loved it.  It is solid and does a great job with the wind, noise and rain.  I did cut it down 2 inches as it was too tall for it's own good but i would recommend this to any Like owners.  I modified the blinkers so the US ones could stay put.  I was looking for the best place to purchase a good windshield for my GTi 300.  I finally ordered one from Accessories International in Florida.  I will have to cut this one down some too but we will see when we get it.  I may have to remove the US blinkers on this one and refit the removed blinkers on the front.  I hope not but we will see.  Thanks for the info folks.

Where is the best place to purchase a GIVI windshield?

Do you remember the part number of the BMW lights?  I am going to put a GIVI on mine too.  How much did you cut it down?  I cut the GIVI that is on my Kymco Like 2 inches.  That is perfect for that scoot but the GTi goes a BUNCH faster so I expect to have to cut that down more.  Thanks again.

Well, yes.  The snow-blower too.  I have that pulled up to the front of the shed so it is close to the door and it is ready to throw some snow but I am more excited to operate the snowmobile.  I have the GTi in the garage ready to go but it was 34 degrees yesterday when I had a chance to take it to town.  I opted out as I would have to be so dressed up for weather that I wouldn't enjoy the craft show and meal I was going in for :(   Oh well, spring isn't far away!
