« on: December 17, 2009, 12:16:37 AM »
It got much cooler from 80F to about 40F and the gas milage dropped from about 60 to 50 mpg.  Is it normal?  Should I do some ajustments?
Thank you

Is it do-it yourself activity?
What kind of a key it is?
Are instructions in the service manual?

Thank you.

Ispud, thank you for instructions, unfortunately I have P250, that doesn't have right or left buttons.  I tried to use top and bottom buttons, but it didn't work.
Thank you again

Can you also scan the owners manual instructions for resetting service indicator?  I bought p250 used and don't have a manual.
Thank you,

I have the same red service indicator on after 5000 kms.  Can someone post instruction or point to where it is in the service manual -- I don't have a user manual.
Thank you

People 250 / tire pressure
« on: August 02, 2009, 05:23:30 AM »
According to Kymco People 250 maintenance manual (page 5)
Tire pressure              Front 1.75 = 24.89 LB/sq inch
(kgf/cm²)                  Rear 2.0    = 28.45 LB/sq inch

Does it make sense?
How do you inflate your vehicle?

I Weight 205lb and inflate front to 32 lb and rear to 36.

Hi, are you in Houston?
I also bought 2006 Kymco People 250 in April and love it.
What color did you get?

My co-worker liked my 250 and found the same but with about 500mi 2006 for $2600 is it a good deal?
Could there be a problem with such a low mileage?
Thank you.

People 250 / 2006 Kymco People 250 crash
« on: May 21, 2009, 06:24:48 AM »
Yesterday my 18-year-old son crashed on the scooter.  Fortunately, after taking Motorcycle Operator Training course he was wearing a full-face helmet.  According to ENTs who took him to the hospital, it saved his life.  He walked away very scared, with few stitches, bruises, many abrasions (didn't wear a jacket and gloves). A closed friend an ER physician examined my son and didn't find anything serious.  I'm still taking him tomorrow to a chiropractor for frame check and alignment.

The scooter did even better -- it has cosmetic damage and I was able to ride it without any trouble 43 mi from the city pound home. I'll greatly appreciate any suggestions as to how to check the scooter for hidden damage and suggestions about reputable scooter repair facility in Houston area.

Look great.  Is it 2009?  Because my 2006 People 250 looks very much the same.

Hi, there isn't a mail icon under your picture.  I did find this link http://kymcoscooters.wordpress.com/2008/05/14/people-250-service-manual/.  Is there something else?
Thank you

Hi Jprestonian, thank you for your advice about the scooter and checking the value in Kelly Blue Book and Edmunds.  I bought the scooter from a very nice couple for $55US over KBB tradein value.  It is 2006 scooter in very good condition with 3600km on it.   I rode it for 52km home,  at times reaching 110km/h.  This is an awesome machine.  Thank you again for the advice.  Now I need to find a user and a repair manuals.

I'm looking at a used Kymco People 250, it looks good and rides well, the only problem I noticed is very high RPM idle for the first few minutes after start.  Could there be a problem?
