Super 8 / Where to find???
« on: June 05, 2014, 08:20:12 PM »
Custom rims/wheels?
I have the 2012 super 8 2t with the 14 inch wheels.  Tires are slim pickings in stock size for rear tire so I was wanting to go a little wider which gives more options.    Stock is 120 in width, 140 is easier foun.  With that much difference I figure the rim should be up scaled as well.  Or is shiming the rim safe?

I'm also looking to personalize her a bit.

Thank you very much.  That's the answer I've been looking for, and will help out a lot.

I've added the Next R exhaust derestricted of course with exception of the silencer anyways.  I like my bike a little quieter than the unsilenced level.  Now I may be able to tune this in so I can ride a little harder.

Did you get a 4t or 2t super 8?

The 2t models I've seen don't have a cdi restriction.
I'm only know a little about the scooters, been trying to derestriction mine.
I have a 2t and found the exhaust to be very restricted, and the carb jet is a 78 stock from factory, and read they call for a 84 for replacement, but I've up to a 90 and still seems to want more.

Super 8 / stock carb help
« on: July 26, 2013, 07:57:47 PM »
So first off can anyone tell me what the stock carb is on the 2012???
And is there an idle screw, and where would I find it???

I'm in need of more jet and want to order the right ones.
I'm also use to finding the idle screw right above the air mixture screw, but in this case there doesn't appear to be one.  So I'm wondering if I'm just not looking in the right place or did they not want owners tuning these carbs.

Also does anyone recommend a certain kind of reed valves, and od I just replace the reeds, or the whole block for best performance.  And would a spacer be helpful, or is that more of a racing mod than street.

Thanks a head of time.

Hi bgblock at this point I'm stuck.  Can't seem to find the rpm hold back on this bike.  The exhaust mod, or just buy a nice tuned pipe will help greatly, then of course retuning the carb.  But even with that I'm still stuck at 7300 rpm.  This motor should do 9000 to 12000 from my understanding.  So I'm still looking to correct that.

As far as the weights go.  I've tried lighter ones, about a gram and a half lighter, and it took even longer to come up to speed.  This could be due to me being a light weight at 145 lbs.  Still waiting on a heavier set to arrive to test the other direction.

If anyone has any ideas on what is holding back the rpms please let me know.

Yea I used a sharpie, the belt runs to the top.

Today I did the exhaust mods, and now it gets up to 40+ but not 45.  Holds the hills much better around 30 to 35 depending on the length and pitch of the hill.

But now I'm wondering what's the rpm range of this engine?  Currently I'm getting 7200 rpm topped out riding and on center stand.

Alss what's the best approach increasing hole shot?  Takes my bike almost a mile to top out.

Belt appears to have full travel to the top.

currently it does about 35 to 37 if there is enough flat road.  On hills only goes about 20 to 25.

AS for the exhaust there is no washer, but it does have the blind pipe, and the egr connection.
I plan removing the the blind pipe this weekend.

Super 8 / Another de-restricting thread.
« on: July 02, 2013, 05:51:22 AM »
Hello all I'm new to the forum, and kymco scooters in general.  I purchased a super 8 2t 2012 in the south east USA.  I'm currently trying to de-restrict my ride.  I've read tons on this subject but haven't found much help.

My drive boss isn't restricted, the cdi doesn't have the pink or purple wires/but yet there seems to be some kind of electronic restriction limiting rev/, I"m planning on removing the blind pipe on the exhaust to get pass that issue.

So what I'm wondering is there any one who can point me in the right direction on where to find the restrictions?  What am I over looking.
