Stig: thanks for the info, but it looks from the photos like the scooters are too different for that info to be of any help.

91cavgt: I'm in the Waller area, northwest of Houston.  Send a PM to me if you are anywhere close to there.

boo: not sure what model you have, but mine is like that and I agree 100% to both counts.

Sorry, maybe my original post wasn't clear.  I want to remove the cover from the instrument panel, and I need to know, first, how to go about doing that, and second, is there anything I need to watch out for, such as some of the instruments falling out or easily broken wires, etc.

I'm new to this forum and glad to be here.  It's great to see so many Kymco enthusiasts out there.  I'm sort of a lone wolf in my part of Texas.

I have a 2009 XcitingR 250.  I had the dealer do the first oil change so they could check everything out and make sure everything was up to specs.  Yesterday I did the second oil change myself.  All went well, the filter screen was clean as a whistle and no problems at all with the actual oil change.  The problems started when I tried to turn off the Oil Service light.  I mashed on that rubber gromet until my hand got sore.  I finally mashed on it so hard that the gromet went through the hole, landing inside the dashboard.  I tried to fish it out with a pair of tweezers but no luck.  I looked all the way through the thread on this from a couple of years ago, but did not see that anyone who posted there had this same problem.

So my question is, how difficult is it to remove the dash cover?  Is there anything special or odd that I need to watch out for?  If I can get the cover off, I should be able to retrieve that nasty little gromet and also actually see the reset button so I can turn the light off.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.
