Hi all!  I'm wondering, if you're a cold weather rider, how you cover up.  I was thinking of buying a snowmobile suit to go over everything on my 2 mile commute, but wonder if there are better options.

Any thoughts?

I only have a 2 mile ride every morning, but it's been pretty cold--in the 30s and windy a few days last week.  I made myself a neoprene face mask that does wonders to keep out the cold!  They're all over the place online, but since I had some neoprene, I figured I'd make my own.  I highly recommend them!

I did something similar on the first day I had my scoot. I bent the brake lever a bit and scuffed up a few bits of the bike.  I will say that I have the blue-black cover and, I kid you not, Sharpie worked like a charm to cover the scuff marks on body panels.  I wouldn't use it for huge scuffs, but for smaller ones it worked like a charm.  You can see them unless you are at level with them.

Here's a pic of my creative parking job at work last week.  That would be my scoot parked in the middle of the art room at my school--the classes are doing still life drawings and the art teacher asked if they could draw the scoot.  How could I say no...especially since it was raining!

I'd be curious to hear some answers to this, too.  I'll be plowing ahead into the Illinois winter on my scoot and, while I know the windshield tends to cut down a LOT of the frigid wind in the face, I don't fancy having an extra place for wind gusts to grab onto.

And if we could get some more add-ons/accessories, that'd be cool, too!

I live 2 miles from work and it took me over half an hour to get home today.  Crazy scoot took me 15 miles out of the way through 4 villages before it found our way back home... :)  Crazy how that happens.

On another note, I learned that, even though my helmet, ambulances are WAY louder when they appear 8 feet from your ear on a scoot.  Yowza!  Thought I was going to ride off the road!

Looking good!  Someday I'll get irritated enough with that ridge to do something about it.  It's not too bad for me now, but every once in a while I think I might like to sit back a bit further.

By the end of the day, I'll hit 100 miles!  It's the little things, right?  I have no basis for comparison, but it seems to be running great.  The only issue I've had is a tiny bit of fog in one of the front indicator lights and some squeaking from the top box bracket.  Those seem easy enough to fix, though!

You know, it was only very recently that I noticed the weird ridge in the seat.  Seeing these pictures is giving me some ideas...maybe over the winter I'll buy an extra seat and do some experimenting.

I bought my scoot at Scooter Works in Chicago, and this seems to be the only cover they sell in the shop--I love it.  Fits great and it's a good quality.  I really like that you can zip out/zip away extra space for the top box and a windshield.

LIKE 200i / Gas Gauge?
« on: August 24, 2013, 05:53:58 PM »
Hi all!  I've been riding my scoot for a few weeks and finally decided to put some gas in it.  The gas gauge showed I was practically empty, so I pulled in to fill it up.  It only ended up taking about .6 gallons, so I was doing pretty well (btw, I got 65 miles on that .6 gallons)

That being said, I'm wondering how accurate the gas gauge is on the Like.  I've read articles in the past about scooter gas gauges not being particularly accurate.  Any thoughts?

My lock doesn't have an alarm.  I'm thinking I'll park it in back, I just have to figure out a solution for the uneven ground.  I thought about laying pavers, but the spot I'm looking at is right against our house, and I don't fancy digging next to the foundation to put down the gravel and sand.  Perhaps a mini patio will work.  I'll let you know what I figure out!
