LIKE 200i / Re: how many miles Kendas?
« on: April 18, 2014, 10:31:18 PM »
Hi Stig, I know one guy with a 2011 200i and he has about 7,000 miles his Kendas and they still have plenty of tread. Unfortunatley, I had the same promblem that Zombie did. My rear tire was out of round. It was really uncomforable at above 40 mph. Apparently, Kenda made a batch of wonky tires. I switched to Shinko white walls. So far I've been happy with them. cochi

Hi Crossbolt.  Avon makes pretty decent tires. I've used them on my motorcyles and never had any problems with them. Good luck. cochi

Thanks for the photos Stig. Really like the rack. It doesn't spoil the lines of the scooter like the top box does. However, that box is really handy!! cochi

Crossbolt, I had the sme problem with the Kendas on my Like. I tried Dyna Beads before I realized that rear Kenda was out of round. The beads didn't work. Nothing would have worked. Apparently, Kenda made a bunch of wacky tires. I ended getting a pair of Shinko white walls and now she's as smooth as silk. cochi :o

Hi TXLike, I just picked up the Kymco windshield for the Like. The measurements are as follows: Height 13.5 inches, measured from the center top to the middle of the cutout for the headlight; Width at the bottom is 14.25 inches and it tapers to about 11 inches at the top. There also a small laminar lip at the top. It's nicely made and it looks sturdy. I haven't mounted it yet, so I don't know how well it performes. I also don't know if Kymco has any other sizes made specifically for the Like. Hope this helps. cochi :)

Mscmkr, I had the same problem with my Like. I would get oil oozing around my filler plug after taking a long ride. It looked exactly like what your getting. Upon close inspection I discovered that there was no sealing washer behind the filler plug. I don't know whether they come from the factory without them, or they forgot to put one on mine. I ended up going to Pep Boys and I picked up a copper washer used to seal discbrake lines as they connect to the caliper. I placed it behind the filler plug and it stopped the leak. My drain plug so far hasn't leaked. I haven't removed it yet so I don't know if there is a washer  behind it. I'll find out at 3000 miles when I change my gear oil. Good luck. cochi

Hi TX, I'm pretty new to this forum. The folks here are very knowledgeable and helpful. I picked up a Like last July. It's a great scoot, dependable, economical and quite quick. It gets up to 35 mph surprisingly fast. Mine likes to cruise between 40 and 50 mph. You will really enjoy it!!! cochi

Hi Stig, thanks for the picture. I'm in Philadelphia, not quite as cold as where you are, but still miserable. I've been able to take the Like out on a couple of errands, which have helped keep withdrawal symptoms under control!!!! cochi ;)

Vivo, thanks for the info. I'll ask the fellas at the scooter shop where I bought the Like if they know anything about them. cochi

Vivo, that's a nice looking exhaust. The header pipe looks to have a substantially larger diameter than the one on the Like. Do you know how it performs and who makes it? I would like to uncork mine a bit. 91cavgt is right on the money about loosing some low end torque. However, if the system is designed well this could be kept to a minimum and there could be gains in the middle and upper rpm ranges. It would be neat to see some dyno curves with that pipe. Thanks. cochi :)

Cavgt, thanks for the info. Looked into the pipe that you mentioned. Nice looking exhaust and the power increase, if accurate is great. Unfortunately, it's a little pricey. I would also like to see dyno specs  comparing the torque band with the stock exhaust. If it moves too far up the rpm range, she'll be slower off of the line.
