Grandvista 250 / start noise

I would really like some help with this one...l took my GV IN FOR ITS 4,000 CHECK....I also told them there was a ...SPLIT SECOND WHIRLING SOUND AS IT STARTED.....absolutely no problem starting, just this annoying sound as if something is starting to wear out...they said forget it, its just a noise, means nothing...I'am a teacher and I found this exclamation outrageous...could he be remotely right...a sound just happens at 4,000 miles...don'nt worry
