If I go I will take lots of pics for yall. And I need to see if there is a back woods country roads way so I can take my scooter. That would be a blast.

Right, you got to take your scoot so she can see what she look like when she grows up.

Kymco News / Re: Downtown 300i with ABS?
« on: September 21, 2013, 02:07:33 PM »
I'm really set on buy a new Downtown 300i in 2014.  The one catch is that it does not come with ABS brakes here in America and that could be a deal breaker.  They have had ABS brakes in Australia since 2010.  It makes no since they do not sell them here with ABS brakes.  Has anyone heard when they will be on the scooters sold here?  Ride safe.

I totally agree I’ve sent emails to Kymco with no response about ABS.  I believe they will start loosing market share if they don’t respond to this issue.  I have found other bikes that have ABS like the Honda Forza 300i.

After about two weeks they will let you do just about everything. How ever you need to check with your Dr. about riding your bike. He will probably let ride with some restrictions (no having fun). Your body will tell what you can and can not do.

Hope you bounce back real soon.....

Good deal,  The SYM's are good bikes, when looking for a scoot the SYM was my first choice. The CityCom 300i, I fell for her long legs (16" wheels) haven't seen them on anything else. Then I when to met up with Kymco Downtown 300i it love at first site, she has short legs but everything else is fantastic.

General Discussion / Re: How many scooter riders do you see each day?
« on: September 19, 2013, 01:35:40 AM »
Here in michigan its almost 1 scoter to every 20 cars. Thats a lot here if they dont cut down on the gas prices there will be lot more. the main scooters you see are all the cheap chineses scooters.

From what I've heard about the cheap chineses scooters you won't be seeing them for very long.

In the smallish town where I live and work it may be 3-5 a day. In the larger city next to us it can be as many as 10 in a day. A lot of those are DUI riders. We've had a number of accidents where riders have been killed or seriously injured & usually the accident is the fault of the scooter. And of course they have no insurance.

Here's an editorial in the local paper about the issue.
http://www.courierpress.com/news/2013/sep/16/issue-of-scooters-expected-to-grow/

That’s an interesting article. I live in Texas and a two day safety course, insurance, and driver license stamp are all required.
