I found out that those navigation systems drain the battery of a smart phone pretty quickly.
Therefore a USB charger like this would be nice to attach.

Link to product

It has two wires. If I want to put it on the dashboard, where should I attact these wires to? A photo/video/drawing of how to do it would be much appreciated.

That's good news, man!
Mine is also running with stability now. And now that I know more on how to start it, I too am a happier agility owner.  :D

All threads should end like this.  ;D

Thanks for the nice comments. And the nice tip with the "Turtle Wax vinyl treatment"-thing. I sure will do that. Thankies.

Cut a wooden block in the right shape. Paint it with silver paint and black ink for a nice finish.
Attach it to your dashboard with tough glue and perhaps a tiny screw. Attach velcro on top.

Bye a cheap watch. This one cost around 3$.

Or attach a smart phone for navigation. The angle on the wood block ensures that you get a clear picture when looking at the screen.

Works perfectly.   ;D

If all of the above doesn't start your engine here's another tip, I was told, and it seems to do it for me - at least for the time being:

3)
On four stroke scooters, the kickstarter will only make the engine run few revolutions compared to two stroke scooters. To compensate for this, you can kick the kickstarter two or more times right after each other to help the engine get going. The trick is to kick at the right times. Follow the flow of the engine. Just like when pushing a swing, you can make it swing higher and higher by pushing at the right time. I found that by using this method you don't have to kick immensely hard, you just have to get the timing right.

OK, a few more newbie experiences on this subject (me being the newbie):

1)
The problem can also be a not all charged battery. One can by a charger for when the problem occurs. If a scoot is left for a while and not used, the battery will slowly de-charge. Low levels make a hard time starting. Some guy told me, that the battery should be replaced once every year.

2)
When starting, only apply a very subtle twist of the throttle handle. More than just a tiny bit will make it very hard to fire up the engine. I've been to impatient and upset from time to time, and I am sure, that has gotten me to twist the handle way to much.
To me this being gentle with the throttle handle seemed illogical, and when I saw a guy start my scoot with it, I just couldn't believe, that what I found impossible actually was so easy. Kind of like a magic touch of sorts.

Another trick to do in order to fill up the carburator with sufficient fuel is to locate the air intake hose, wich is made of rubber. Then squeze it tightly together while kicking the kick starter a few times. That should suck fuel into the carb.
If that doesn't do the trick, the vacuum hose might be damaged.

It miiiiiiiiight also be, that the problem is, that it has not been running for a while.
That could cause the carburetor to be empty of fuel. In order to fill it up and have it starting again, I read a tip about stepping gently on the kickstarter - without trying to start the scoot - 4-5 times and after that turning the throttle handle up and down 6-7 times. That should somehow suck gas into the carb.
After that it should start, if that is the problem.

You could watch this and read the comments:

I totally don't get that one, Eherim. Please draw a picture......

:-) OK, it was just, that I felt, that the question asked was answered with something that didn't have a whole lot to do with the question.

(3) the throttle at the carb.  The easiest to lubricate. Use a spray oil.

Does anyone know of a good how-to-guide showing newbies how to do this? Where to find it, and so on?
