For Sale / 2012 Kymco Super 8 150 Islip, NY
« on: April 12, 2015, 07:53:25 PM »
FS is my wife's 2012 Kymco Super 8 150 scooter with 2300 kilometers. Yes KM, not miles, they are all like this. Good condition. We are the second owner.

We bought it a few years ago for my wife to learn how to ride but now we are expecting and she no longer wants to ride, so I pass it on to the next!

Overall "good" condition, a few scratches from use but never dropped or crashed. Maintenance up to date, tires have lots of life. Otherwise stock.

This is a 4 stroke, street legal, 150cc single. She tops out around 65mph.

$1400 in Islip, NY. We travel often and can assist with delivery.

Technical | How To / Kymco 150 bogging down
« on: April 05, 2014, 03:34:13 PM »
Ok, so I checked auto enricher, it works when hooked up to 12v

I pulled carb and cleaned jets. Pilot jet was a little clogged I think. Main jet was spotless but I cleaned anyway. Reinstalled.

What is my baseline for the fuel screw? I've been reading the net but it seems every model is different. I got her running good when hot but I am way out, like 4 turns or something crazy. Any advice? I read somewhere as you screw out, the idle should rise and then eventually fall again. Mine never falls!

Technical | How To / Kymco 150 bogging down

Trying to figure out why my kymco 150 is bogging down. When cold the bike idles fine but any throttle input will stall motor.

Once warm eventually it will take throttle and respond. When fully warm it's almost fine but I still get a distinct off idle bog. Video attached.

So far I tested the auto choke and it functions, tested polarity of auto choke (it was backwards), and drilled out the air/fuel screw and tried adjusting it. It does not respond to adjustment which I thought is odd.

Any insight?

OK, so this is strange. I ordered the Motion Pro D Shape 08-0242 tool and it is too large for the screw? Anyone have any insight?

I ordered the exact bit linked above.

Thanks

Super 8 150 / Idle adjustment
« on: November 15, 2013, 04:24:38 PM »
All,

On my super 8 150, is the idle adjustment (raise/lower) the same screw that controls the throttle stop? Usually there is an air screw on other carbs. All I see is the throttle adjustment slowly turning the throttle.

Thanks

Cool! Just ordered the tool off amazon. Vito, neat idea for a adaptation... but for $5.00 I will stock my tool box  with the proper tool :)

Long story short... the auto choke wiring was backwards on my 2012 People 150. Now that the auto choke is working properly (pulled it off, tested it, works) when the auto choke goes "off" and the fuel circuit is leaner, the bike runs rough. Previously, when the auto choke not functioning and the fuel circuit being much richer, the bike ran great once warmed up. However I was getting full throttle bogs. Bike is stock with 2200K.

Anyway, I pulled the cap off the fuel mixture screw but there is no screw inside... just a round brass fitting with a flat side. Pic:

How do I turn this screw-type thing?

Thanks

Lou

Super 8 150 / Auto Choke

First post - picked up a 2012 super. 8 150 and thought the carbs needed to be cleaned... But the bike ran great when warm. Saw this post and turns out my wires were also backward!

Thanks for the help!
