Super 9 / Re: Just clicking noises

If you only hear clicking noise and you recharged your battery your starter motor is probably dead. I had exactly the same sound. To make sure ur starter is really dead remove it and hook it up to a battery if it turns then its fine if it doesnt then its dead. I also had that the connection between the wires and the starter motor where bad so i just removed the starter and sanded down the connections so they where nice and clean. hopefully this helps you.

Well good news the bike is running now. How ever i did a complete engine swap. Ill tell you the history since i got it. I got it non running and im pretty sure its crashed a few times, I cleaned everything out then after a few hours of work it fired right up. Then drove the bike and it just shut off. Cleaned EVERYTHING. All the hoses, the carb, drained the oil, petrol all the fun stuff. Ran it still didnt fire. I pulled the cilinder off and well it was finished there where some nasty groves. I geuss the oil pump broke? I got a new cilinder and piston for that engine but still wouldnt run. It would almost run so I was mad and i kept starting and naturally burned my starter. The engine had compression spark and fuel so i didnt understand why i wouldnt run. After spending alot on the new cilinder and it still wasnt running i kinda gave up on the bike. I saw a add online for a dirt cheap complete engine excluding the exhaust and the rear wheel so i just decided to buy that and i swapped the whole thing out. This engine is running has a bigger carb, which became a problem since the cap from the throttle cabel to the new carb is too small, for now i cable tided it on not ideal but i first wanted to hear the engine run before I spent more money on this thing. The engine runs great except when going full throttle it kinda dies out, it might have something to do with that cap thats not properly on but im gonna go down to the scooter shop to see if i can get a new cap, i already tried changing the carb settings but that didnt help. Thats basically everything about the bike so far.

Hello,
I have a 2005 Super 9 lc, my engine was almost on the point of firing so i keep holding down the electric starter for quite a long time (i knw i shouldnt have) but then the starter motor stopped turning. I can hear the relay click does that mean that i ruined my starter motor? Thanks in advance

Did a compression test and the compression was good. Im quite lost in what to do now. I think the auto bystarter might be broken so ill start by replacing that and getting a new sparkplug.

So i took out the reeds and there was a small stone keeping one flap open. After turning the reeds around and making sure they properly closed i put everything back together and it ran for a minute in idle after that it died again. I geuss im gonna have to do a compression test.

Thanks. The carb gets fuel, has a good spark, the exhaust isnt obstructed, I havent checked compression since i dont have a gauge. Im going to check the reeds tonight, then if those are ok ill find a way to do a compression test. Thanks again for replying.

Super 9 / Super 9 starting issues

Hello,
I have a Super 9 lc that didnt run for about 2 years. I cleaned out the carb completly and discoverd the throttle valve spring broke in half so i replaced that. After some effort the scooter fired up and ofcouse after standing for 2 years lots of smoke came out but it sounded great. From then on it went downhill. I took it out for a test drive and when going full throttle the engine cut off as if it ran out of petrol. I started it again and it fired right up but then shut off again, then it would barely run in idle, now it doesnt start at all. Only an occasional fire up. I cleaned out the whole carb again the jets werent clogged up. Also fuel is getting to the carb. Anyone have any ideas why i wont start anymore? I did fidle with the air screw but i put it back on about 1.5 turns counterclockwise from the carb (which it said in my manual). Thanks
