my dealer told me that they were going to call it the xciting 700, and that we would see them near the end of 09.

If I'm not mistaken... the 06-09 are exactly the same. I havent found any body style changes that I can see. I own a 2007, and it looks exactly like the 09s.

Just wanted to introduce myself.
My name is Vic. I'm a native Southern Californian who is now (unfortunately... i guess) living in Philadelphia. I'm a prior Air Force Intel Analyst, and I now work just outside Philly for a government contractor. I'm somewhat new to scooter riding (about a 1yr now). I own a red Kymco People S 250. Havent modded it yet, but I plan on having a Big Bore Kit installed to bump it up to 300cc. I also want to install a Leo Vince exhaust, and maybe a few other stuff. Gotta save up for all that though (lol). My goal is to eventually give my current 250 to the wifey, and purchase the Xciting 500Ri (i think thats what its called?). I'm hoping sometime down the road that Kymco brings to the U.S. something even more powerful, like a 800cc. I know what some of you might be thinking... (shoot, why doesnt he just purchase a crotch rocket...). I'm happy with maxi-scooters.
