People 150 / Re: People 150 seems slow.

The dealer took my scooter back to his shop and eventually replaced the carburetor. Now it runs like a scalded dog. As soon as I pulled out of my driveway I felt the difference and it easily got up to an indicated 65 MPH. I know the speedo is pretty optimistic but I'm guessing the real speed is somewhere north of 55, and that's just fine. :)

Thanks for all of your responses. As I originally said, I'm very new to the Kymco. Of course the previous owners didn't bother to keep any records to pass on. I will definitely call the dealer tomorrow and see if he will help.

I checked the air cleaner and it's very clean. the tire pressure is 33lb front and back. The more I ride it the more I think it may be actually a 50cc by the performance. I have a neighbor lady with a 50cc Chinese scooter that can put me to shame. The registration says 150 and the little symbol on the sides of the scooter say 150. This scooter originally belonged to couple in Key West and this was the wife's scooter. I am wondering if the husband had it detuned or swapped the 150 engine for a 50 so his wife could not go very fast. Is there a way I can tell what I have without tearing the scooter apart

My new to me 150 with just over 900 miles can't seem to get past 42 mph on a long flat run. I'm no feather weight, about 195 lbs., but I hoped I could get at least 55 out of it. The carb was cleaned by the dealer and it runs nice otherwise. Any advise?

People 150 / Seafoam
« on: May 22, 2014, 09:32:21 PM »
I'm brand new to this site and I have read many posts that mention Seafoam as a gas treatment to counteract the effects of ethanol gas. I had never heard of this product so I'm interested. Where do I get this? Is it available a most auto parts stores? Thanks for helping a newbee get started.

People 150 / 2009 People 150 owner's manual
« on: May 22, 2014, 06:38:56 PM »
I just found a cherry 2009 people 150 with 900 miles on the clock. the scooter is flawless and has been gone over and tuned by the dealer so it's just like new. I guess the previous owner was one of those people who throw away the manual as soon as they get their scooter home. I saw in the forum where I could download one but I tried it and it doesn't work. I like to work on my own toys as much as possible and would love to find an original manual. Any ideas?
