People 50 / New Tires - brand/size?
« on: August 14, 2009, 10:07:22 AM »
i got a flat in my rear tire a couple weeks back.  i was just wondering what brand/size tires anyone has put on their people 50.
i was running with cheng shin 80/80-16(F) and 100/80-16(R)
ended up ordering pirelli ML 75's for the front and rear after spending almost an hour in the shop trying to find a matching set. :P

People 50 / new headlight
« on: July 10, 2009, 05:39:35 AM »
so i drove my people 50 home from work @ 10pm last night and realized that the headlight is not sufficient enough to light the road ahead.
can the bulb be repositioned (right now i think mine is shining more on my front wheel than the road ahead) or is it possible to get something a bit more powerful?
i checked the forum and all i came up with was this post http://kymcoforum.com/index.php?topic=219.0  but that didn't really give me much to work with.
suggestions?

i bought my people 50 used, and it did not have a tool kit with it.. so if i want to change the spark plug would i be able to get it out without that?

Technical | How To / Re: people 50 dying
« on: July 07, 2009, 04:07:26 AM »
thanks, i took it out today and didn't have any issues.  i did buy some sea foam to add to the gas, haven't done it yet because i'm unsure of how much to actually add.  but it got a good cleaning yesterday so maybe that helped? we'll see.. *crosses fingers*

Technical | How To / people 50 dying
« on: July 06, 2009, 09:11:02 AM »
hi all-
been having issues with my people 50 dying on me while riding.  seems to happen more so with the throttle fully open and going up hills, but it will die out on flats as well.  everything seems to be normal, then it will sort of 'hiccup' (lose and then regain power) and then stop completely.  if i let it sit for a few seconds it will start right back up with the electric start no problem.
i don't know if it has anything to do with this, but the part that holds the kill switch is loose and rotating a bit.  i took it apart and it seems that the plastic bit with the teeth that is on the handlebar has worn out some.
talked to someone at checker auto that has a highly modded scooter, and he suggested that the float in the carb may need to be cleaned.
i'm not mechanically inclined at all, so this is worrying me a lot.
any advice on a diagnosis or remedy to this issue?
