General Discussion / Re: had an accident today

Always a good idea to stay to left side of vehicle in front of you and watch your rearview mirrors for someone coming up behind you so you have a 'way out' . May not have worked where he was stopped initially, though .

First off, I'm really happy to hear your OK! It could have been A LOT worse, a very similar thing happened to my brother years back, he wasn't as lucky, thankfully he made out OK except for a week in the hospital. I do believe riding is safe as long as your a defensive and responsible rider, the real safety issues are due to other irresponsible drivers on the road which you unfortunately encountered. They are everywhere!

The quote above from bluesin is excellent info, being alert (checking mirrors) and positioning yourself as said above so you have the possibility to evade a collision.

Again glad your alright!!  :)

Thanks for the info and perspective, I'm going to ride it around a bit more before I make a decision, I really didn't get a chance to ride some hills the first time.

Main reason I don't want anything larger than a 50cc is based on a promise I made a long time ago. If I decide to go higher I need a motorcycle license, then, down the road I know I will end up with full blown street bike at some point, that happens to the promise I made :( .  It's all good though the people 50 has been an excellent little machine in the 8 years I've had it, and have no plans of selling it anytime soon, I just thought trying a scoot with the smaller/wider 10" wheels and the enhanced ability to ride off-road, as well as still around the city would be a cool thing to try....

Thanks man! That sounds good to me, I know what you mean about the color, yellow isn't exactly my favorite, although due to how hard they are to find I figured I'd give it a try, another nice thing about it is that it share's almost all the same parts as genuines new line of the roughhouse 50, so even being older there are still a lot of parts and upgrades available for it.

I could also go with a new 2014 roughhouse 50 for $2700 I'm just not really sure the extra G is worth spending on something that's practically the same thing, as 22xx miles for the black cat is very light use?

Another opinions much appreciated!

Thanks!!

Hi all!

First I'd like to say that this site is AWESOME!!! I Can't believe I haven't joined until today :o.

Anyway, my name is Steve, I live in Boulder Co. and have been a proud owner of my 2006 People 50, I love it, starting to have some issues to address but should no problem with all the wonderful information available here!

I do have a non-Kymco related question though, hope its alright :-\

Anyway here goes. I'm not replacing my KP 50, however I was looking to add another Scooter to the list. It is a 2006 Genuine Black Cat with 2243 miles on it, it's in excellent mechanical condition with a 7/10 cosmetic rating. I can ride it home for $1625, to those whom are familiar with this scoot could you please tell me if you think that sounds like a fair price?

I would very much appreciate it!!!

Look forward to becoming a helpful member to the community!

Thanks,

-Steve
