Venox 250 / kymco venox: rookie question

Hi all
I have just had my new 2011 venox delivered to my door and was wondering what advice you had for
me as far as riding and maintenance is concerned.
I am new to road bikes and my mechanical knowledge is pretty much nill (although I hope to change that with this new bike)
