Downtown 300 / Re: I Am Back

Welcome back!
Love the color scheme.

How did you paint it yourself? I am looking into repainting mine, but I have no clue of where to start.
(Decided to paint it myself as there is no one here in local area who would do a paint job for me.)

Last Friday I took myself for a night ride as I have to cut back for now on riding because of allergies.  >:(

All my life...no damn allergies, and this year I have them so bad, I'm coughing and tearing up so bad, I can't see.

Arizona sun has been ok for riding, but the dirt, pollen infested, and other crud in the gusty winds, have me wishing the allergy medicine I was given, would actually work.

Blah.

thank you for the pictures of scooter lights, you will be a guiding light with your pictures, I wish we had shops here with all the goodys,

I wish we had stores that have the goodies to make a rocken custom.
That and I wish I had friends near me who could do electrical work if I came upon parts.

...off in the distance...I hear a chuckle...coming from the direction of Florida, Arizona...those turds are riding their scooters and mocking us.... :-\

This AZ turd is happy to still be able to ride. Even in the sprinkle like weather of today.  ;)

It's kind of a toss up with different people I have met who drive the vintage scooters.
Some have been a delight to talk to and some I wish I could punch and knock them off their high horse.

I find the difficult scooterists to be as snobby as motorcycle self proclaimed Purists. (aka: Harley Riders)

It's not about what model or type you use.

It's all about the love to ride.

And that's all one should care about.  :)

I saw this blog just today and I think the lights on these scoots is awesome.
Has anyone here done anything like this to their own bike?

Do you think It would be possible with a Downtown 300?

Downtown 300 / Re: Downtowns first service

I believe the first time you want to get it serviced is around 600 miles. (dealer suggested I do this, so they can make sure everything is ok)

They changed my oil and checked things out. With labor and materials used, it was around $60.00 for me. (I don't mind paying this as I have no clue how to do this myself and Im not sure I can trust youtube videos of DIY)

My sincerest apologies to all here....
I was a doofus. The kickstand was the issue. It wasn't entirely up and...well...yeah....the bike had a good laugh at me and a rest from driving to work.

And here I was scolding her for not starting...

I had to go back and apologize.

I do not remember the kickstand being down this morning as I usually keep it on the center stand, but I will take a look when I get home from work.

If this is the case....well I will feel like a doofus and will apologize to you all for wasting your time. -.-''

No. It wasn't. I usually don't try and hit the switch to run until after all the lights poof on and I hear the engine noise when I first turn the bike on.

Downtown 300 / Engine light
« on: February 26, 2015, 04:13:37 PM »
Today I tried to start up the bike to head into work and when I turned the bike on, all the lights during the pre-check turned on, but the engine light did not. I couldn't even hear the small noise the bike makes when you turn it on and the engine turns over.
I tried to start it up as usual, but nothing happened.
The rest of the bike was up (lights and so forth) but the engine did nothing even after I flipped the switch and hit the ignition button.

Turned bike off, waited a few minutes and tried again.

Engine light remained off and again no sound showing the engine was turning over.

Anyone know what's going on?

Any help is appreciated

Didn't do anything too exciting.
Put a decal on the lower half of my shield.
