General Discussion / Re: Warning Kymco difficult to find parts
« on: July 02, 2011, 12:48:42 PM »
I have never had trouble getting parts from KYMCO. But performance parts and after market parts, now that Scootertrap in Orlando, FL is going out of business. Does anyone know of another dealer in performance parts?

Yes I know what you mean. My People 250 still does it at 50,000 K. I found if I fill the gas tank clear full to the rim it happens. I don't fill it that full and no problem. You didn't say what year you had. Mine is a 2006. Good luck to you.

I have been gone for a long time . I still ride my People 250. This post caught my eye because I had the same problem. The two year warranty was not up so Kymco replaced it free of charge. The exhaust pipe also cracked. Something to think about.

If you did it a little differently a picture would be nice. I may have to change mine.

I do have a picture and I will dig it out and post it. But the way
I fastened it was to run the straps under the handle bars and over
the wind shield brackets and fasten over the top of the headlight
on the inside of the windshield. I will find a picture and post.

Well I have never had any problems of grounding out at 240 lbs.
I scraped the side stand on the Blue Ridge Parkway
if that counts as grounding out. LOL. My 2006 has 40,868 km
on her as of this morning.

I'll tell you what I did to get storage up front.
a simple fanny pack. You can put a pad and pen,
camera, letters to be mailed, I have found all
sorts of things to put in my fanny pack and it fits
around the windshield brackets just fine. and hangs
down right in front of you for easy access.

Greetings to all. Just joined this forum and liked what I have seen so far.
I have a 2006, Charcoal, People 250, purchased new, now have 40,000+ km
on my baby, only second set of tires. Replaced muffler under warranty and
carburetor with no problems. Installed a J-Costa variator and clutch springs.
The scooter has lived up to KYMCO standards,I love it and would purchase
another KYMCO, possibly a 500.
