Grandvista 250 / Re: Just bought a new GV 250
« on: March 18, 2009, 08:50:58 PM »
Glad you like the GV.  Im driving my second one and they are just great.  I took the back rest off the seat and have a jell pad for my fat butt that helps alot.  I just turned over 400 miles and have had my first service.  I have had it up to 75 per the speedo but not really sure about that so take it with a grain of salt.  Probably more like 67-68MPH.  No problem with not starting but have used the slight tweak on the gas bar when it is cold in the morning.  After that there is no problem what so ever.  I also left the side stand down and got a little red in the face when I found the problem.  Just enjoy your self and drive safe.

Xciting 500 / Re: New Xciting 500 owner what should I know?
« on: March 01, 2009, 09:41:47 PM »
Congratulations on the purchase.  Most of your questions are answered in the manual regarding oil and fuel.  I had a 500 and now own a Grandvista.  The 500 was really to big for me as I couldnot get my feet flat on the ground when stopped and seemed like the center of gravity was high and once it started to tip look out as it sure goes down fast.  Dumped it twice and the 500 lbs went down fast.  Thank heaven I was stopped and didnot get hurt.  Im 72 and it was great to ride but just not for me.  The GV is 250cc and a little lower and much easier for me to handle.  She will jump up to 65-75 really easy and very comfortable to ride.  You can feel the difference in a wind and she dances around a little not like the 500.  My 500 would hit a 100mph with no sweat.  Only did it once and that was enough.  Good luck and Kymco is a great choice.  Fred

General Discussion / Re: Is the s 200 worth it?

Im a pretty big guy (225lbs) and the Grandvista 250cc is just perfect.  All the speed I want.  I have no problems getting on the Xway and up to 70mph with some to spare.  I have had the S 200 and the Exciting 500.  The 500 was just to big for me to handle as my feet would not be flat on the ground and to easy to dump over when stopped.  The Grandvista is just right and most enjoyable.

Hi Old Guy...got my first GV an 08 up in Michigan last year for $4200 and had to sell it when we moved to Mississippi as no dealer here.  Well of course after moving a new dealer opened up  and I got my 09 GV in red and paid $4300 including tax and they even delivered it to the subdivision where I live.  Pretty good deal.  It is a great scooter but like the first one had to take the backrest off and got a good pad for the old fat butt and more room and comfort.  Great scoot.  Don't wait to long as life goes to fast.

I have had four Kymco's in the past couple of years.  Started with the People 50 then to the 200 up to the 500cc.  All are great but the Grandvista that I just purchased is by far the greatest one of the bunch for ease of handling and ride.  You cannot beat the two year warrenty and the quality of workmanship.  Purchasing anything other then Kymco just doesnot make any sense.

I had 350 miles on mine and never had a burning smell.  Better check it with the dealer before you get in real trouble out in the boonies some day.

Grandvista 250 / Re: Are there any mods for GrandVista seat?
« on: August 07, 2008, 07:33:13 PM »
What about the difference in space from the dash to your belt buckle?  My big gut is crowded and I removed the back rest so I could scoot back to a more comfortable position.  Like your description of the ride comfort and if the distance is better I will get one.

Has anyone ever had one of the modified seats for the GrandVista?  I have taken the backrest off of mine to give me a little more room from the front dash.  I would like to have the other if it gives a little more room to stretch the legs.

If your on the highway alot, check the weight of the scooter you want as you sure will get blown away if your not careful.  Most cars go over 70mph and the 18 wheelers sure as heck go faster.

I have a GV 2008 with 350 miles on it and not a mark or bruse for sale in Charlevoix Michigan.  Moving out of state and need to sell.  Not sure where you are located.  Scooter is white, and asking $3500.  Fred

Grandvista 250 / Re: GV on the Interstate...
« on: May 10, 2008, 07:31:16 PM »
Been driving my new GV for a couple of months now and at 55-60 it is quite stable even in the wind.
I dont get on the interstate as there are so many rough parts of it such as holes, big cracks, etc and those little wheels just take a beating.  I had a Exciting 500 and it was much better on the interstate but even then you sure have to be careful.  I sold the 500 as my legs are just not long enough and balancing on tip toe is a real challange when stopped.  Im looking at a Burgman and the seat is lower by about two inches and that is a lot better to handle then the 500.

I was looking at the drivers manual today and checking the fluid levels and the maunal says that the radiator should be filled with of all things....distilled water.  That does not seem right.  What is to prevent rust?  I called my dealer and even he was surprised about that one as he had not had a GV yet except mine and my Xciting 500 takes anti-freeze.  Can you check with your dealer and see what he says?  Fred

Im seventy one and I took a long ride today and  really enjoyed it.  I have a white one.  The mirrors will not give you any trouble at all, actually I like them low rather then high as my arms get in the way on the high ones.  Im rather short and heavy and my legs although short are a little cramped even with my feet in the cruse position.  Im going to take the back rest off tomorrow and see just what that does for me.  I had the bike stored all winter and just got it out today.  I had the 500cc down in Mississippi at our condo and then brought it back here to our home in Michigan where I have it up for sale at the dealers.  Already have people looking at it.  Fred
