Hi,
Would anyone know how to remove the lock from  my Shad-33 Topcase so I can have a local locksmith re-key it to my 2009 People 150 scooter ignition key, thus using only one key for both functions?   I'm trying to learn the procedure before I do it, so I don't screw up the lock (and maybe won't be able to put it back together).  I can see inside the topcaase that there are two plastic tabs which, if pushed, I suppose, will release the whole lock mechanism, but there are two springs involved which might be difficult to put back together.

People 150 / Attaching a SHAD topcase to my 2009 People 150.

Hi.  I recently purchased a SHAD SH-33 Topcase from Belden Motosport (for $136.95, with a silver top) and a Topmaster Kit for my model People 150 ( kit # KOPP15ST, which turned out to be two flat triangular pieces of thin metal, for $14.95).  They didn't really work for me...too flimsy, so I drilled four holes through my luggage rack (the one the scoot came with...it's hard plastic) and attached the topcase baseplate directly to it with four nuts/bolts.  Works like a charm!!  :)  I would suggest this method to anyone who gets a topcase for their People 150 (mine's a 2009).  The SH-33 easily holds my large full-sized HJS helmet, plus other smaller items.  This 70-year-old New Hampshire boy will gladly answer any questions about this post at jofour@myfairpoint.net.  Man, is my scoot ever FUN to drive!  Have a nice day.

Technical | How To / Re: People 150 front turn signals---disconnected?

Thanks, wordslinger, for the advice.  I am also going to try LED lamps, for ALL my lights (except the headlamp), if I can find the correct sizes.  On my scoot, the "dead" front blinker sockets seem to have been removed (the fixtures are there) and replaced with a flat-surfaced plastic piece with no holes in it.  I'm thinking of getting a new set for the front from a dealer I saw online, which has wires with it.  I want to see if I can get them to "blink" with the two bug-eyed signals.  The better to be seen by the four-wheelers!  Also, anyone out there ever add an LED license plate frame which acts as another brake light/running light and also rear turn signals to go with the original set?  Later, jofour.

Hi.  Thanks for your answer. I actually saw on another forum why they don't work.  Same reason you gave.  Now, I want to see if I can get them operational, at least with small lights, or better yet, with leds.  jofour

Technical | How To / People 150 front turn signals---disconnected?
« on: August 20, 2009, 09:05:27 PM »
Hey,  I'm a new People 150 owner (two days!).  I love it.  I noticed right away that the upper (eyestalk) front turn signals work perfectly.  The two bug-eyed lower ones in the panels do not operate al all.  Is this normal?  Have they purposely been disconnected by Kymco?  Can they be re-connected, so I will have four front turn signals lights?  And, if so, how can I do this?  I'm quite clever for a New Hampshire boy (age 70!).  Or, should I have my dealer do this?

Appreciate any help.  Jofour.
