Yes I was kinda surprised to see it pretty damn clean. Didn't check the auto choke mainly because I'm not sure how. I said gap the plug to the correct setting and its no longer sounding like the kill switch off sound any more. But definitely no beyond the same throttle point. I'm very close to giving up and taking it to a local shop. May need to be jetted. Just don't know where to make the change since there are no number on the main jet. Maybe 105 110 to start and see how it goes. After the try with the plug.

Yes I changed the gas. I mixed the gas myself and capped off oil injector. The plug looks OK. I ordered a br9hix plug but still gonna check a local shop to see if they have it. No patience at this point. Lol. It also has some run on after it warms up so thinking the plug is too hot. Crossing my fingers.

OK nobe of the local stores had a "colder" plug. I tried opening the gap on the current plug and wouldn't start so I closed it up some with the same results. Went a little further closed and a little better. Thinking that since there was a change with gapping it differently the plug may help. Maybe its false hopes. Will update after plug replacement. Once again I am always up to ideas. Oh just put in a set of boyesen reeds also. So those are good. Thanks again

zx50 / pulling my hair out!!! need help

Hi guys I'm new to this forum. I had recently purchased a 2002 zx50 super fever. This thing is driving me crazy. Here is the scenario. Purchased this thing not running. Well would start for a few sec and then die. Cleaned card like 3 times and sorta eliminated carb being dirty. I checked compression and has 195psi on a few kicks. Changed spark plug it now starts and idles. Anything over 1/4 throttle and it seems as if I hit the kill switch. When its cold and you rev it, it sounds like a very choppy rev limmiter. Wot same when warm. Could I possibly need a hotter plug? I have a br8hsa in there now.  Maybe hotter plug? I purchased it with a bbk stroker crank variator weights (rollers) ( 3pink/3orange).  Now that I'm thinking about it maybe gonna try a hotter plug. If anyone has other ideas please chime in. If the plug doesn't work than I'm out of ideas!! Thanks in advance!!

Hi I just had a similar problem. It would start and idle poorly for 10 seconds at most then stall especially if I gave some throttle. Then really hard to get to fire for even a sec. I cleaned the carb. Made sure all connections were solid. Compression was195. Had spark. Fresh fuel. Drove me nuts. Cleaned and regapped plug. Would start the cycle again.there was a champion plug in it. I changed the plug to a br8hsa NGK. Runs strong as can be!!! Stupid champion plug. Lol
