As a scooterist that seen more than a few through the shop. What is your opinion on drive belt life, My 76 Gold Wing cam belts are rate for 30K miles or 5 years. What would one expect from a scooter belt? Or recommended replacement schedule?

Is there any way the mods can make all the relevant service and repair threads stick at the top of the subject forums?

Buy an electric pump form a big box retailer and a couple of pressure gauges and be done with it. Remember the angle must clear both the disk caliper and the transmission. They may not work. With the relative low pressure (25lbs) required you could use a good bicycle pump!

Yet another way, if you have a compressor, get a gasoline rated hose that is sufficiently long enough, a rag, install the hose in the tank, stuff the rag around the filler body and with a air gun fill the gas tank, this starts the siphon process. when it gets to the end and you can't remove any more add a ounce or two of 90% rubbing alcohol( a couple of splashes) and a pint of fresh gas, start and run to get the last of the bad gas out. The alcohol mixes with the water in the bottom and allows the motor to sort of burn it out, it is water after all.  then fill with fresh fuel , meaning you bought it that day, if your not a regular rider and your scoot sits for weeks use Stabil!!!!!it well prevent this.

The reason for distilled water? So there is no lime or calcium build up,  also chlorine.  What happens is the essential chemicals that prevent freezing (hint: anti freeze) dissipate after 5 years or 50K to 75K miles. You need only drain and inspect for residue. Use distilled water, fill, seal and then up to operating temp to help dissolve any gummy coolant in air pockets and such. Drain and fill with fresh anti freeze/ coolant. It is the water that is the coolant. BTW. You don't have to multi flush if you use the correct coolant. If it states safe for aluminum then use it as that is what the radiator is made of in most cases.
