Quannon / Quannon 150 stalling at idle, running rich, hard to start FIXED
« on: August 03, 2015, 02:39:58 AM »
After 2 weeks of troubleshooting,I finally figured out what was causing my Quannon 150 to run poorly, which included not idling, stalling, missing, surging, and being so difficult to start,I would run my battery down. There is a vacuum operated fuel valve (petcock) on the bottom of the tank that supplies the carb fuel when its running. The top hose goes to the carb, while the bottom is a vacuum line that goes to the intake. The petcock was letting fuel into my engine from the vacuum hose, which is not supposed to happen but apparently the rubber seal inside was allowing fuel to leak past.I changed the plug, adjusted the valves, checked the resistance of the coil, tps, and auto bystarter before I figured this out.I temporarily have bypassed the petcock altogether until my new petcock gets here, and just come back from a 2.5 hour ride and the bike runs like new.Just wanted to share since there seems to be very little support for this machine.Bike only has 7500 miles on it,but I don't know the history of it and wouldn't think this part would fail this early, but apparently its very common (just check some of the Harley forums). So,if your bike won't idle, your oil smells like gas,it misses and surges on the highway, and its difficult to start,I would check the petcock vacuum line first and if you have fuel in it,there's your headache ! They are available on EBay for about $8 shipped, but I ordered the OEM one for $25.Happy riding and be safe !

Quannon / Auto to manual choke conversion Quannon 150
« on: July 27, 2015, 06:30:00 PM »
Anyone know if this would work? http://www.adrenalin-pedstop.co.uk/p/Dellorto_carburettor_manual_choke_conversion_PHVA-2732.aspx
Running super rich and suspect the auto bystarter is bad.
Thanks !

Quannon / Quannon 150 carb hose diagram
« on: July 23, 2015, 02:45:24 AM »
Anyone know where I can find a carb hose diagram or can advise me on this ? There's a port on the bottom that's not connected to anything and another on the intake that's capped, its on the right side of carb if you're sitting on the bike and is in between the carb and engine. The one on the opposite or left side goes to the fuel petcock and I'm pretty sure that one is correct.I found an online service manual for the 125 but it doesn't specify.I've also looked at the emissions label under the rear seat and its not much help either.Bike is running rich and won't idle without stalling despite cleaning the carb twice and a new plug.I'm finding very little support on this model and really don't want to take it to the dealer but may have no choice.I bought it from a used car dealer that had taken it in on a trade,so unsure of the bikes history other than it appears someone has removed the emissions.Put a new spark plug in and noticed the old one was black and wet.I will do a valve adjustment this weekend and update if I can't figure anything else out by then.

Quannon / Re: Quannon 150 secondary air system (SAS)
« on: July 22, 2015, 03:32:42 AM »
Yep,found the sticker under the passenger seat and sure enough,it seems that almost all the parts are missing.Bike runs good on the road but idles at about 1000 rpm then quits. It quit on me at a busy intersection the other day,so I'm not comfortable riding it right now.Took the carb off and boiled the jets and it was clean as a whistle.Measured resistance on the auto bystarter and TPS and they are in spec.Even put a brand new plug in it and still won't idle right and the throttle stop screw is maxed out,so I'm at my wits end. From the fuel petcock on the bottom of the tank, there's a vacuum hose on the bottom nipple that goes to the rubber coupling between the carb and engine. Then on the upper nipple of the petcock, there is a slightly larger hose that runs to the fuel filter then out to the carb.I can't find a diagram of what its supposed to look like so does this sound correct ?

Quannon / Quannon 150 secondary air system (SAS)
« on: July 21, 2015, 05:44:29 PM »
Hi guys, new here, just bought a Quannon 150 3 days ago, overall a pretty solid little bike but it seems someone has jacked with the secondary air system. On the side of my airbox, there is an elbow that someone has plugged,Im thinking there supposed to be a hose there that runs up to the reed valve located just under and left of the tank.Theres a hard line that runs from the side of the cyclinder head up to a small box here, and its been plugged. If you take the plug out,it seems to run better but its louder.Anyone have a pic or can give any advice? Thanks in advance !
