For Sale / Selling my 2009 500Ri
« on: October 06, 2015, 05:10:37 PM »
Sorry to say, selling my 2009 500Ri Xciting. It is just too heavy for my old body, when I have to maneuver it around the garage and other tight slow places.  Only 4600 miles, looks like new, New front tire, battery, servicing. White, in Oregon. Spread the word if you know anyone out here that needs one.

Don't have just an engine, but I am selling my complete 2009 500Ri, then you would have a bunch of extra parts. Runs great, only 4600 miles on it. I'm in Oregon, though.

Thanks Bongoman, I've been reading your posts. And I did make my own filter, saved money and had fun doing it. I also have a Mivv exhaust system on the way from Italy. I've had 4 other scooters and 37 motorcycles over the years, this one is pretty fun, getting used to its handling and weight, as I am an old guy now.

UPDATE! ---- I went out and discovered some dumb ass put the filter in with BLACK SILICONE!  So, I got it out with razor knife and pliers, will take the air box off now to scrape it all out and clean it inside, probably not such a bad idea anyway, will now look for a new filter element. You can now ignore the following paragraph......
2009 Xciting 500Ri, looks really easy, I took off the screws, but nothing behind it to come out! I used pliers on what I see, but it looks to be part of the air box. I thought I knew what I was doing, but this has me stumped. I might just take the air box off and figure it out. That looks easy. Thanks!

General Discussion / New owner of 2009 500 Xciting R

Hello, just purchased a 2009 500 Xciting with 5400 miles on it, appears to be like new. Hope to find out lots of info and tips here.  I just wish it was about 100 lbs lighter, but I am going to start looking for things to eliminate.  That ignition switch that opens the gas door and seat is a bit stubborn, hoping some WD40 works on that.  Going to start figuring out how to get turn signals off, because they are full of dirt and bugs!  I found a service manual today on Ebay for under $30.00! FYI, I am a retired guy in Oregon, have ridden motorcycles since 1965, have had 4 other scooters, 3 Hondas and an old Vespa.
