@ Iahawk.

I acrually have an extra set of rims and tires for the Silverwing as well.
Difficult to explain but just the idea of having a possible tire problem and having to wait a couple of days to get the problem sorted at a shop makes me feel a bit "closterphobic". It might sound weird but it is what it is.

I will forward some photos in the nearby future.

My go to ear defenders these days are these bad boys:

Alpine Moto GP range.

I’ve used a variety of ear plugs every ride for 40+ years ranging from disposable foam (E.A.R) right up to £70 custom moulded ones and the reusable Alpines are as good as the custom jobs at about £16.

My last hearing test showed a better than average level of hearing loss for my age. Coincidence? I think not.

Always think the best instrument binnacles are the ones you don’t have to think about, are comprehensive, instinctive and most importantly, don’t irritate you.

Both my current rides fail on one of the above, in the case of my DTX, it lacks an ambient temperature gauge and is sometimes difficult to read in bright sunlight. With my Triumph it is overly complicated (Rev limiter etc.) and the lcd display (time etc) is too small to read comfortably without my specs.

Even my wife’s Range Rover fails the irritation test as the temperature & fuel displays don’t mirror one another! IYKYK…

well, if you're lucky enough to live in an area that actually has private mechanics...(unlike here) you may find better pricing and work from the independent, just like in auto repair.

right back at ya! Never ride without them. Howard Leight brand, 32 db reduction, box of 200 pairs. I also never mow without them.

Full face helmet, com system playing music, ear plugs, and I can still hear traffic sounds clearly. Best of all worlds!

Is it better/ cheaper to take a bike to a dealership or a private mechanic in general?
