General Discussion / first 2 warm weather rides of the season
« Last post by Iahawk on March 29, 2025, 05:28:54 PM »
yesterday was 80 F (26.6 C), sunny and windy, so I had to get the bike out. Took a nice, hour ride on the little Ninja. It felt like my last ride on this bike was 1 day ago (it was more than 3 months)..everything just felt so good and natural. Today is 64 F (17.7 C) and cloudy but still nice riding weather. Went for another hour long ride. I know I'm preaching to the choir, but getting out for a nice ride makes everything seem right with the world. No stresses, no problems...just the beauty and joy of riding.

Just checked... Parts are now being processed by USA customs in Chicago. I will likely have the parts by the end of the week... maybe.

FINALLY!!! Today, as is common with USPS coming out of Chicago, the parts are shown to have left the USA customs department and suddenly showed up in my local area distribution center. That means it will be another 3-4 business days before they'll finally be delivered. Assuming the local area distribution center knows how to read the label from Taiwan (and it IS in English).

Hello, A few months ago I bought a used MXU 300r which is giving me exactly the same problems as yours. Did you find a solution?

But Hawk...!
Your days of DIY servicing would come to an end with one of these monsters!
Of course, other than an oil change every 15K - they probably need nothing doing for 100K miles!
Well, you could have fun waxing the thing for 2 days.

Hmmmm....in that case I'd have to go backwards and find a bike on my bucket list...a 98-01 Honda VFR800 Interceptor...fuel injected, gear driven cams and pre VVT. That would keep me busy wrenching on it, I'm sure!

Some chilling (heartbreaking?) stats there Stig.

There've been a lot of reports locally (UK) about "boots on the ground" in Ukraine and bellicose UK politicians squaring up to Putin.  Madness.  Bet it wouldn't be their sons & daughters packed off to the front-line!

I learned, by heart, Wilfred Owen's famous WWI poem when at school and it has stayed with me since then.  The utter futility of war.  Owen was killed a few days before the Armistice in November 1918.

Mike, I'm sure either would be an excellent choice, but my preference based on previous scooter experience is the Mich CG2s.  I have Pirellis (Diablo Rosso*) on my Triumph and they're excellent, just that I've never tried that marque on a scooter.

* Stig, if you go for Angels through superstition, then I'm OK with Red Devils as they're an ace Royal Air Force display team!

It's a Honda?
Which model?

Stig

How on earth did you deduce from the OP that this was a Honda Stig?  Are you psychic or was it some sort of Holmesian deductive reasoning?

I've had https://www.mcwheel.com/front.html straighten and weld wheels with good success
