Re CB300F Stig rear sets for a bit more knee room?

As for me, well, you know the answer to that, an X-ADV750.  But like you it'd have to be red or... red, white & blue at a pinch.  Means I'd be looking at something 3-5 years old here in the UK.

Radios

Karl, when I was in Vietnam, late 1960's, I bought a Zenith Trans-Oceanic radio.
Big thing - took a lot of D batteries!
It had a knob on the L side, turn it to rotate to different 'bands'.... not that I knew a thing about this. It was new - but the manual didn't make it to our compound.
Pretty sure some were short wave.

Whenever I was back at my hootch at the 71st Evac Hosp I'd try to get something, anything, on it from back in The World.
I ran an 'antenna' wire along the top of the sandbag wall, outside. No idea if that helped anything.
We could get AFVN, of course (think Robin Wms), but that was out of Saigon, or someplace in-country. That was akin to being on Mars, getting music from DJ in a tent on Mars.
"Back in the World" was what we wanted. The USA.
A few times I got San Fransico - maybe Australia.

Wish I'd been able to bring that thing home - no dice. Got $50 for it.
Thanks for posting Karl!

Tom, you just shook loose a SEA STORY!
I do not think I ever told you guys this one about a duty day aboard an LST based in San Diego, CA. This was my first tour as a Mustang LT(jg) Engineering Officer [LT(jg) = 1st LT in other services]. I had duty that day as CDO (Command Duty Officer) and was prowling the ship to bolster the troops on watch and self-satisfying that she (the ship) was not sinking, on fire, being threatened by pirates..you know, you seen the movies! I came upon Radio Central and looked in on the man standing watch there. He was RD2 Robert Bokum, one of the brightest men I had encountered in my 8 to 9 years of service. RD is radarman or radar operator and he was tasked cross rate as radioman  for in port duty which is very busy copying and printing a ton of message traffic coming over shortwave radio. In the midst of this tiny radio room was a Zenith Transoceanic portable radio. E-5 Bokum explained that one of the ship's receivers was out of service and he hooked his personal radio up to the system to copy one of the important teletype message broadcasts!

This is an example of the beyond outstanding men who populated my Navy from 1959 to 1977!

Tom, you were right on track by stringing wire for your excellent receiver! The more wire the better for receive!

SEA STORY FINAL. OUT.

Sorry, cannot say anything about without comparison parameters.
This LH seems to be the alternator side, RH I cannot interprete.
Maybe somebody with more experience in this field chimes in.
But maybe the used harness brings some enlightening?

I'm wanting to install angled tire valves on my 2022 People S 150. Anyone know what size it takes, 8.3mm or 11.3mm? TIA. :)

Technical | How To / Kpipe 125 tuning
« Last post by GaryDaSnail on March 26, 2025, 02:53:26 AM »
Hi, I recently bought a 2022 Kpipe 125. It has 3000 miles on it and had some bad piston slap when I got it. Since purchase I have installed, steady garage 138cc big bore kit, delkevic exhaust, nibbi PE26 carb, nibbi pod filter, nibbi intake manifold, nibbi ignition coil, nibbi fuel filter, ngk iridium spark plug, emissions system delete with oil catch can and breather, niche x-ring gold chain, 15t front sprocket, and other cosmetic and comfort mods. Anyways I’ve went over everything and nothing but the old bore and piston were damaged so the big bore took care of that problem, however I can’t seem to get it tuned correctly after all the mods. I am right at sea level and temps here are between 55-70 right now. I currently :( have a 35 pilot jet, 128 main jet, and needle in the center position, and air screw 1-5/8 turns out. The bike is mostly easy to start cold however will die at the slightest touch of the throttle unless warmed up for a bit. When it warms up the idle isn’t consistent, it doesn’t surge or anything and will idle without turning off but it just doesn’t sound like a steady idle, but it doesn’t really do anything abnormal when giving throttle up to 1/4 so the pilot should be fine maybe it’s just my ears messing with me. In the first 5 minutes or so of riding anything over 1/4 throttle the rpms sound like they increase way faster than normal but the power is lacking a lot basically sounds like I’m revving the crap out of it but it’s not getting anymore speed, after a few seconds idle returns to where it should be and speed starts increasing, this only happens for the first 5-10 min of riding but will continue to happen at 3/4 throttle the whole ride. My main concern is that after holding 3/4 to full throttle for more than 15 seconds if I slowly let off the bike feels like it loses all power the rpms will die way down and it will jerk forward and back with the rpms coming back then cutting out coming back then cutting out over and over until I let off the throttle and twist again. So basically nothing too abnormal anywhere between 1/8 and full throttle until you let go. Sometimes it will also have the jerky feeling and the power will start cutting completely out and coming back full power over and over when holding full throttle for long periods, but this doesn’t happen often most likely just needs a slight turn on the air screw. I have also adjusted the valves but am unsure if they are correct because I have seen many different specs for the valves online and am unsure who to trust on that, so if someone could give me the proper valve clearance that would be awesome. I have good compression, and I’ve checked for vacuum leaks. Kind of at a loss because it rides good until you start rolling off the throttle or when it’s having that power surge issue. Another question I have is, I’ve heard the stock speeds on these are around 55mph, now I didn’t get to ride mine stock because of the cylinder damage however I’m fairly small, 6 foot 145 pounds and I can only get 58 mph out of it 61 if I’m fully tucked. Shouldn’t I be expecting a little more with the current mods I have? I was thinking I should get at least 65 out of it, just seems odd that doing that many power focused mods only gave me 3 mph of top speed. I’ve owned a Hawk 250 and did basically these same mods and got about 20 mph more top speed out of it so only getting 3 from this just doesn’t feel right. Anyways if someone could maybe give me ideas of where the jetting and needle should be and proper valve clearance that would be awesome, again I’m at sea level, 55-70 degrees. Thank you.

Here is the test with the oscilloscope!

This should be the signal from ECU to the ignition coil. Honestly, I was expecting something completely different, I don't even know how to read this signal I got in output.

Me, Honda 300F naked, and it'd have to be a new dealer left-over,
because if it's not this Honda red it wouldn't happen!

Had a bit of a windfall of $ recently after a SS ruling was changed for govt. pensioners.
Ahh...if only I weren't 6'3" - the wheelbase on this thing is too short.

YOU?
