Starter Relay Buzzes

After getting my bike back from a dealership for a carb cleaning, the starter relay buzzes when the starter button is pressed; sometimes it will work and the bike will turn over and fire up, other times it just buzzes like a cheap doorbell.  All electrical connections are clean and tight, the battery is good, the starter relay passed the off-bike multimeter test for continuity and function (hooked directly to the battery), and I checked the starter button.  Anyone else have this problem?   I've had to roll-start the bike twice because of this.  I have ordered a new relay, just in case the problem lies in the wires inside.  Any insight?

i remember someone had a starting motor problem soon after this symptom you are talking about, turned out that the motor got stripped by the engine because the starting clutch was jamed

ha ha they are most probably out riding! i log on at least once a week to help out other when i can, because when i had my issues there was not so much information online, so now that i got a hang of the fuel system and the valve system i try to help out who ever needs it.
still have not played with the transmission yet, and hopefully never have to.
any questions or problems concerning the above i am more then happy to help out, was very lucky to have a mechanic to help me out at the time and was wanting to teach other fellow bikers! if your mechanic rides a scooter... run away!

Mike the bike.. Welcome to the forum... Sorry, to hear this but it seems majority of the posters here have scooters... There are several Venox owners but just like Max said, maybe they are out riding... Most Venox owners love to cruise to far away places and post here after those trips. Scooterists, just zip around town so we spend more time posting....

her Vivo thought i might have upset people with the scooter thing... well i have a scooter here in Taiwan too, its the easiest way to get around and no parking problems. the point i was trying to make was that for a mechanic especially a motorbike mechanic(and a good one at that) must have passion for bikes to be working with them day in and day out. if one was to have a scooter and having to work on bikes with more then one carb and a geared transmission delivery system, it kind of underminde the fact that they are whiling to lift an extra muscle to get your bike tip top and on the road asap since the season is really at its end at the moment.
the reason why our fellow rider here on another post had to wait nearly a month for a one day work and came home with it some how the same way he handed the bike in a month ago.
from another point of describing what i mean is the person who is working on your bike is already happy and content with the power out put and range of a scooter, he or she might not have to interest that you have to have a smooth running and tip top condition bike, and at this moment if i am correct the venox is the highest output 250cc chopper out there.

The mechanic I took the Venox to was actually a Kymco associated dealer.  They mostly sell and work on vary big bikes like Triumphs and Victory motorcycles (1800cc).  Their other Atlanta location 100 miles away from me sells Kymco scooters, but they had never heard of the Venox 250 either.

The starter relay arrived yesterday.  I installed it, and so far it works perfectly--no more buzzing when I press the starter button; engine cranks right up.  Also, so far no problems riding to work and back (after installing new spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, and fuel petcock & etc.).  I'm starting to like my Venox again!

Oh this is so cool! another venox on the raod. i have been back in Romania for a week already, and been riding the little beast to get some odd jobs done in the ciry, no hesitation starts with one push and no problems whats so ever, i can feel the airfilter getting old as because i am slowly running richer from the looks of the carbon build up on the pipes. but nothing with a little fiddle of the pilot screw cant fix.

Rode the Venox two more times to work and back.  Last night was a bit chilly (in the low 60s Fahrenheit), and the engine seemed like it was hesitating slightly after riding 8-10 miles, but nothing as bad as before.   Do I need to adjust the carbs for "cold" weather riding?  It's usually around 75-90 degrees here in Atlanta, but it's now starting to get cooler.  I'll ride until the temp gets to 50 degrees (which feels a lot colder at night!)

i cover half the radiator for the cold months. my does the same not hesitating but reduced perfomance is  felt when the engine is cold on the road.
