Good option for bright running lights?
« on: September 20, 2013, 09:38:43 PM »
Hello, Anyone with good experience with some bright 3 watt running lights for our scoots?
Not having much luck with these cheap LEDs from eBay/Taiwan- parts of them quit after a few weeks, or they start flashing off and on which is not good on the front of a scoot in traffic - Phantom 'turn signals'.
Getting tired of fishing in there to replace them with my Easter-Ham sized hands.
About ready to go back the  little candles Kymco had in there - the incandescent jobs.
Do not want to pull the front leg sheild apart or do some fancing wiring with relays and etc.- I'm a carpenter, not  an electrician.
Just slide in some brighter bulbs.
As always - Thanks in advance for your suggestions...

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Go with superbrightleds.com - they've consistently perfomed as good replacements on all of my vehicles, and also give relative intensity ratings for reference.  Not sure exactly which style your's uses, but I think the Super8 has just the miniature wedge base type:
